My heart is broken in one respect at the loss of Henry Cele's life, yet relieved that he greets Chaka Zulu in paradise. He channeled the Spirit of my ancestor in such a way that he has been an inspiration to me my whole life.

I downloaded the Shaka Zulu movies on Youtube and I so wish that he was still alive. If he was I would go and ask him how it felt doing the movie that potrays the life of the conquerer of nations. When watching the movies it was like he was the real shaka zulu. His legacy will forever live in our hearts

Rest in peace Mr. Cele. When I first saw Shaka Zulu as a young girl I thought to myself who is this beautiful man? I have been a fan ever since. Many people leave this world without contribution. Mr. Cele has contributed much and taught us something. Be Blessed.

Saw him in Shaka, He was awesome. Did not know about his times in soccer, but can see him out there running the ball around with the vigor of his acting style. Also had a fine deep voice. Wonder if he sung?

I remember when this series came out, my mother would watch it over and over again...I was like approx 13 or 14. I couldn't understand why this movie resonated familiarity to her....Now I watch it religiously 20+ years later. What a sirius soul in a chiseled body. He must've been a King in his past life...II enjoyed his presence on earth...may they enjoy you where you are now. 13peace

Just got a hold of the series.....Shaka Zulu. So very well played. Played with pride and the true spirit of a warrior and King. You can not always define a person by a role they play but..........the way in which he played this role spoke volumes to who he is. Thank you for such a contribution for lending yourself to us all. You made us fell like something....you gave pride back to Africa. Love you-God bless your family!!

I'm very sad to learn that Henry Cele passed away in 2007. I now have the Africa Channel and was llooking forward to seeing him in one of the Soap Operas or in some up coming movies. Let me say in the Movie Shaka Zulu, I don't think there was another Actor who could have played this part, He was Shaka. His superb acting of this part, should have awarded numerous awards, it was received extremely well both, domestically, and abroad. RIP Mr. Cele , You were the best Actor I have ever seen.

When Shaka Zulu (Henry Cele) marched to the late King Senzangakhona kraal to take over the kingdom of the Zulu's oh! I love that moment when Queen Nandi marched in with her head held high. Henry Cele potrayed an unforgetable memory of Shaka Zulu, You will always be remembered.

I can not believe such a ICON like Mr. Henry Cele, has not been celebrated in life.. I just finished watching Shaka Zulu.. Im years late to say thank you deeply Mr.Cele for the honest you chaneled in King Shaka. Just like Shaka you did not receive the due respect and honor for your work. Just like Shaka you should have had a mourning ceremony fit for a king. To my generation you are Shaka.. i LIVE IN THE USA, WENT TO SCHOOL, EVEN ALL BLACK SCHOOLS AND I have never even heard of King Shaka until you introduce us thru ur strong honest acting.. THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME MY PEOPLE HISTORY..

Today is September 17, 2011, I am watching the second Shaka Zulu movie starring "Henry Cele". I must say, my heart is with grief to find that this man whom brought King Shaka Zulu to life. Henry Cele', the man whom not only played Shaka Zulu in the movie but he became the epitome of what one expects of the character of a true King. Shaka, King of the Zulus, was a strong, wise and compassionate King of his people. The rumors of him being a ruthless killer was planted in the story of Shaka to cause people of the African heritage to never again want a leader or King such as the planted story of Shaka. In the 1980's movie Shaka Zulu, he was depicted as being very wise but as if he was blood thirsty for the blood of other Africans. He was not at all blood thirsty nor did his people love him out of fear. They love him because they knew that he was strong and could not only lead them to stand against colonial rule but he was feared by the british, the dutch and any other group that had reaped fear in South Africa during the days of the british terranny that murdered and kidnapped the children of South Africa and sold them into slavery. Shaka was loved by many of the African tribes before he assimilated many of them. He united many of the tribes of South Africa as well as some of the tribes of Africa that was further from the south and helped to make the tribes of South Africa and other places strong enough against the british and dutch invasions that had been kidnapping indigenous African people from their lands and taking them by ships to other lands and selling them into slavery. Shaka was spoken of by Zulu prophecy to be the disease of the beetle " it was said that when Shaka was born, it would be in a time of a flowing of a rivers of blood. It has been always portrayed that the rivers of blood would be the blood of other Africans at the hands of Shaka, but when we look back at History, we truly find that their was more innocent bloodshed from and by the hands of the british than by Shaka. The most of the blood shed that was cause by Shaka, was that of the british. If the whole truth was told about that time in History, we'd find that Shaka was born to unit the tribes of South Africa against colonial rule and the continous kidnapping of the South African people, When people tells stories wherein they have done wrong, they usually have the story to make themselves appear innocent and the person /peoplo in question the villian(s). Shaka was reared rough, but he had to be reared rough in order to become the man that he became. He was one of the greatest Kings that has ever lived. Some of the stories of Shaka are true, but some of them are just as was said by the so-called lord farwell when he said "We have toyed with their minds, now let's play with their imagination". I honor you Henry Cele the man and because you protrayed Shaka Zulu so well, I honor Shaka Zulu, the King of the Zulus!!! Brian Tinsley

My mother, an extreme fan of Henry Cele, passed away from lung cancer this past July. Since she was on my mind, I decided to watch it again since I hadn't seen it since I was a child. Just like Ada, I became curious as to his whereabouts. When I found out he was dead, it really shocked me. I was so sad to hear that. I realize I am very late, but still, my heart goes out to his family. He was a great actor and to my mom, a very very SEXY man.*

I am just finding out tonight about the death of "Shaka Zulu"'s Henry Cele. I am four years late, but my heart is sinks as if it was just yesterday. I am so sorry to hear this news. I was a child when I first and last viewed the movie and decided to watch it tonight. The movie gave me a thought to look Henry up and see where he was today and this is the news I find. I always thought you were such a handsome man. Blowing kisses to you Henry. May you rest in sweet peace. <3

when i first saw henry cele in the starring role of shaka, i thought to myself that i had just seen the greatest actor of the 20th century. i had always hoped that he would play "othello" onstage in boston, ma-my hometown. his immense stage presence was all-transforming and for me he really is "shaka", the real creator of the zulu nation! the theatrical world has lost an international treasure and so has the world at large. to his wife and family, my deepest condolences and may he rest in peace. he will be long remembered .
