To "Dorothy"- I didn't know you personally, but when I heard you passed it was as if you were my personal friend. You were my favorite of all those phenominal women,I will always remember those faces you made when Rose would say something dumb - priceless...thank you for being a friend and giving all of us love and laughs and several lines to remember you by and use :D.....RIP

I remember "Maude" showing up on "All In The Family" and loving her. Through the years of "Maude" we all laughed and enjoyed the humor and the reality of the topics. I remember the first episode of the "Golden Girls." I called my grandmother and asked her to change the channel. We laughed so hard. Bea kept us laughing. For several years we would watch the show together while on the phone. We loved the show. Bea was a wonderful human being and is missed so much. Bea, "Thank you for being a friend..."

I was truly saddened by the news of Bea Arthur's passing. My condolences to her friends and family. In my opinion, Bea Arthur's comedic timing was perfection, and she will truly be missed. I wrote to her late last year asking for her to autograph a photo, and I received the personally signed photo back in February. It is something I will always treasure. Thank you Bea for all the laughter!

Nothing but sadness that 2 of the greatest and funniest stars are gone . I love them all but the connection between Bea and Estelle was amazing I feel like u lost someone you knew and cared for . I still watch them they are on 3 times a day at 8am to 10am on channel 191 at 5pm to 7pm on channel 42 and again at 12am to 1-2am on channel 191 to me they were so funny and also taught me the value of friendship. I really hope that they are still on tv when I grow old . Now god has another Angel in heaven ! All of the Golden Girls are loved God bless Bea and Estelle . To Betty Ad Rue we still have u and love you bless you 2!

I went to see Just Friends in New York City. I was waiting outside the theatre with a group of Bea watchers waiting for Bea to leave after the show by the stage door. Billy Goldenberg came out and I BEGGED HIM FOR ME TO MEET BEA. He took me inside and told someone to bring me to meet Bea. We'll I cannot tell you what happened. My knees were shaking, The fellow called up to her and said Bea someone wants to meet you. I went upstairs and there she was.....I was numb. I had my camera with me and asked Bea if I could take a picture with her, she said ABSOULTELY......IN HER DEEP VOICE.......The picture was taken and when I had it defeloped it came out BLANK.....so you can just about see shadows but that is all. However, I know I met her, she put her arm around me and I will never, never forget the experience of it all. I left and went downstairs to wait for Bea to come out with the rest of the crowd and told the witing crowd that I had just met Bea Arthur and took a picture with her. She came out the stage door and everyone applauded, I took pictures again, those came out, so I have those, but the one I really wanted did not, so be it. Rest in peace girlfriend I wish I could have met you one more time, but we will meet again in the next life. Just keep them laughing in Heaven until I get there.

They just don't write comedy as they did then...Susan Harris..ah, you're great! I have the "first" memories of "Maude & "The Golden Girls"! Did you hear Betty White & Rue McClannahan on Larry King, together on one phone-line talked about Bea,said she was.."shy!"...Betty added..even timid! Would you believe that? I'm sure her character rubbed off on her,bec- she must have been happy to release her true feelings..I believe this! No way was she "completly" timid[?] shocking!! Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart,DickVanDyke Show,Taxi, those were "comedies" I lived those memories, I am 52! I was there..w/ JohnyCarson too! I adored Bea Arthur! She was pretty when she had to appear that way..sweet,warm,demonstrative[like me]! Not passive as some people I know...I wonder how long she was ill? I didn't read her bio yet...I couldn't, as I was sentimental, and sad...I believe in Life After Death,,so I am certain she is w/ her loved ones, her pets,if they've gone before her,or when they join her! She had a good, full life, and gave us such happiness, that's more than many can say,as..many haven't given anything to human-kind! Not "mankind" bec- man has annihiliated our species, our planet, just look at The Antactic, our precious animals..Bea , w/ Rhu,& Betty, all supported animal welfare!! I watched Betty on "Password" other day,she was..say 26 maybe, married to Allen Ludden, it was said he was jealous of her& didn't want her to express herself! Look where she went!!!She's so talented! Betty got what she wanted! Little did she know she'd be w/ the great Bea Arthur one day on their own show!! To me, she's still here, and probably is..happy and well, feeling better than she was when sick, she is at peace...I loved Miss Bea Arthur...she is w/ Estelle Getty too..both laughing about how happy they made us,and how happy it made them to give us such a great time in the eighties, when tv, was intellegent and said to be the best time for everything aired! Not now,,,I never watch "passive" tv.."those" are couch potatoes..ones who want it all to come to "them",so there's no thinking to do...to have humor, appreciate it,understand "real" humor & how to laugh! It's gone now...Bea is gone but still spiritually living..bet on it...Love to her family..

It wasn't until after I'd begun to watch the Golden Girls for many years, that I saw an old episode of All in the Family, and saw Bea's character and her humorous interaction with "Archie Bunker". She was such a brillant actress, and her sense of humor was something that will always stand out to me. She was someone that you could just so imagine being as sweet and lovable as the character's she played on TV. She'll be very missed, and I'm forever thankful for the reruns, and I'll carry her in my heart always. God bless your family as they go on without you, but also smile knowing you're with your loving Father in Heaven, free from all pain, suffering, and grief. God bless you Bea!!
