Before teaching in Sussex UK in the early 1960s (1961-63),Vic(tor) Dudman taught Physics and Maths at the great St Olave's and St Saviour's Grammar School for Boys, at that time located beside Tower Bridge in London on the banks of the River Thames in Tooley Street. With a brother at Ely Cathedral at the time and an eminent organist, Vic would also take a keen interest in the musical activity of STOGS - especially encouraging the organ students of the time. I was one of those - and greatly appreciated his support, anecdotes and advice. Much missed now. Prof Dr Noel, Tredinnick

I was a student of his when he was a teacher in Sussex England. He taught me maths and logic. I liked his informality, unconventional thought and humour . He was a good teacher and his enthusiasm helped me get good grades which ultimately led me to get my doctorate. . I remember once he startled all the boarding students at the school who were in the big hall studying prep, by bringing in his future wife, who played a piece on her violin. I enjoyed and appreciated that.

I always remember growing up when Dad used to take us down to Sydney to see Mardi, we would always catch up and there would always be laughter, jokes and that ever present sense of humour from Uncle Vic. I will always remember that twinkle in Vics eye as he was contemplating his next practical joke or scheme. Very fond memories for a child.

One of the few times we met was in August on the day of Michael Dudmans funeral, a very confusing day for me (being 11 years old) You said some simple, kind but ressuring words to me, and i remember your handshake.
God bless.
