Even though I only knew you from the occassional hi and bye at shows and at the Rainbow, I miss seeing you around. We have/had many friends in common and I have visited your grave remembering all the times I had seen you play or just hanging out. I must say the 'bow is a little boring since you left.

Traci used to DJ at The Star Garden and some times in character if he had to play that night. It would be funny to come in the dressing room and there he is with the girls and he is in the mirror adding hair spray. I'm glad I hired him.

I met Traci in 1992 when I first moved to Hollywood, he was one of the first glam rockers I met! Extremely talented and humble guy! He was starting a band called Tragedy. He played with our band Guttersluts and toured with us to Colorado and other places. I have some great stories with him! Most people will never know what kind soul he was, he wanted everyone to feel accepted in the Hollywood scene. When I heard of his passing at first, i thought it was untrue, i didn't want to believe it. I attended his funeral and it really hit me. There was such a crowd, it was like a concert! I was physically sick for about 2 weeks after the funeral...very hard to deal with. After all this time, I think of the guy often. I hope the world gets to see and hear all the great things he left behind. I'm honored to have known Traci and got to work with him. God Bless you my friend.- Ash

for the three years we were together, we had some serious 'ups and downs'. and towards the end of our time together, there seemed to be way more downs. You made me laugh when i felt like giving up, you stuck by me when, people i thought were friends, turned against me when my 'money' ran out. And more than anything else, you still cared. The most painful thing, is finding out after all these years,is that we still had feelings for each other. I didnt realise it until you phoned our beautiful 'Star' , two months before you died. I cannot believe its been two years, and there is not one day that you are far from my heart, every time I look at our beautiful daughter, I see you. You would be so proud of her......but somehow I know you will always be with her and Brittany. So I will celebrate your birthday, with white roses and drink a toast to you. But things will never be the same, I miss you, and when we return to Hollywood I will miss you even more. 'Still love ya Babe!' BRIXX xxx

I'm in the UK and just heard the sad news about Traci tonight. It's really upset me to hear that he's gone. I had the pleasure of meeting Traci for the first time in November 1997 during my time in Hollywood. I had travelled out there alone and knew nobody but met Traci in the Rainbow. Immediately, he made me feel so welcome and showed me round, introducing me to people. We went to watch a gig at the Whisky (I can't remember the band's name) and Traci stood up for me when a guy at the gig tried to come on to me and wouldn't take No for an answer. He was like a lovely, cuddly big brother. When I returned to Hollywood 2 years later I'll always remember Traci bombing up to me in the Rainbow with a big grin on his face, remembering me from 2 years earlier and giving me the biggest hug in the world!!! My favourite memory of Traci is him going round the booths in the Rainbow and chatting to everyone - Tony on the door used to let him in for free because his image was good for the place! I remember once Marilyn Manson and Rose McGowan walking out because Tony refused to get Traci out of a booth for them because Traci was better for business!! I used to call Traci "Drink Thief" because he used to always try and grab my drink if I let go of it and always wanted bits of my pizza. He was a very talented drummer and a special guy. He was one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet, so full of life and enthusiasm. To pass away on Friday 13th while on tour - well, that was just soooo Traci!! I for one will miss that big smiling face and the memories I have will be treasured - to me now, The Rainbow and Hollywood will never be the same. RIP Traci xxx <3 xxx miss ya mate. You were one of the good guys xxx

Written June 13, 2008 Today a dear friend and love of mine, Traci Michaelz passed away. It is all so surreal to me. doesn't feel right. as though something in this world just disappeared. I had the pleasure of meeting Traci a little over two or three years ago at a party in the art district of Los Angeles. I remember the shows and outings on sunset. how he would drop by and sit up with me all night having heart to hearts. watching him attempt to play guitar hero :P. filming a music video in my old apartment. he helped coax me out of my shell. made me feel more valuable than I ever thought myself worth. He was a good friend. offered me companionship when I had none. Traci did more than just dream. he made them a reality unlike so many of us. he was spontaneous and lived in the moment. and was THE life of the party. he answered to no one aside from himself. He lived the way HE chose to. his personality was addicting. let that serve as an inspiration to us all. He LIVED life to the fullest extent he could. So tonight all of us who were blessed in knowing him and all of his dedicated fans, pour yourselves a shot and shoot it all the way to the back of your throat in honor of our loved Traci Michaelz.

I knew Traci for 13 years. He was a wonderful friend and for a while my love.I have never known anyone so passionate about what they did than Traci. He was fun, sweet, loyal, talented and beautiful. The memory I want to share is how one night we were hanging out and as always I was admiring his vast collection of bracelets and watching him talking xcitedly about new music he was working on I decided to go over and remove his triple ring bondage bracelet. He didn't even notice .After a while he looked down and said "hey I have a bracelet just like yours look!" and then he realized that mine was his.He thought it was so funny that I had gotten it without him knowing that he let me keep it.I still have it and as always I still have him in my heart. I've known tracy since we were 15. I am struggling to find words..nothing I could say would be appropriate enough or describe my true sadness. He was a friend and a real rockstar..always looked like he just stepped off stage. I always knew he would find a way to leave his mark on this world, I just wish it hadn't been this way. He took a part of my heart with him and hope he's chasing skirts where ever his soul is flying. I will always love and admire you Tracy. Wild Child Portland oregon

I only met Traci recently at one of his shows, but what was so memorable was how he walked up to me after the show in the midst of all tha crazyness and introduced himself to me as if he knew me and truely cared about me. We talked for a while and I was surprised to see how sincere and genuinely excited about life he was. I've come to find out this is the real Traci who respected people in that way. He was a true and trustworthy friend to so many. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet one of lifes finest. I was really looking forward to developing a great long lasting friendship with Traci that I know would have lasted a lifetime. For sure me and Tracy would have had one of the most valuable friendships a person could ever have. I'll never forget you Traci Michaelz. Thank's for being there. In my heart and memories forever!.....

I hung out with Traci alot during my time in LA and he was definitely one of a kind. What you got was what you saw, he was a 24/7 rock'n'roller and for that I salute him. The world of rock'n'roll will be just that little bit darker without him around. Rest in peace T, I raise my glass to you - Steve Vincent

"The band will not be the same without you Traci" - Correction. There is no band without Traci. Traci WAS the band. Any other attempt to live off his legacy under the guise of "it's what he would have wanted" is just wrong. Peppermint Creeps died when Traci did. Yes he wanted the band to make it, but with him IN it. He used the other members to get what he wanted just like they used him. But now that he's not around, I know he wouldn't want those people living off the fruits of his labor especially now finally knowing the truth about the vultures that surrounded him.

Hallalujah! Damn Straight - You Go Girl! I mean that first memorial show they had for him at the Key Club was endearing and all, and well done no doubt, especially with having Traci playing along with the band up on the video screen and en-sync with the band and what not. But I heard that the surviving band members didn't even give the substantial proceeds that were made to the family to help with the funeral! Now for all I know the family may have omitted any acceptance of such, but that still sounds fishy at best... especially since the band has never publicly commented on it. So the question is what did they do with all that money, and what are they doing with all of the subsequent money they are making off of the band's on-going merchandise sales and new album proceeds as well? And where did all of the proceeds from that second memorial show they had go to for that matter too? And that second memorial show was just too much anyway... I mean come on, enough is enough, isn't it about time to just let the guy rest in peace? And while we're at it, where is the autopsy report and why has that never been issued by the band either? The whole thing just sounds very odd, or very "sneaky" as Traci would say, and also quite vulture-like to me and many other people that I know as well.... that band needs to just come clean, let it go and move on, as all of this has quite frankly just become disrectful to Traci's memory and it's making a lot of people sick!!!

I would like to get the pics to his family, it would be nice to help them see he had a great time with us at the Rockstar Sports Bar. I did a little stint with Violent Playground and he was in Heart Throb Mob. He would tech for our drummer (Nel-e Kel-e) and in return Nel-e would tech for him. After the band fizzled I hadn't seen Traci in a few years and I remember when I ran in to him at the Poison Hollyweird Tour with Faster Pussycat, Winger and Cinderella - he was all smiles to see me, he hugged me like a day hadn't passed and he put his arm around my shoulder and walked me over to introduce me to his wife. He was so happy and so proud. I saw him again as the show was ending and he hugged me again and said in that rough but soft voice "Come to the Rainbow more often and have a few drinks with me". The last time I saw him was at Club Vodka when they played the same bill with LA Guns. I helped him set up his kit and the promoter kept yelling at them to hurry up. I finally told him if that guy yelled at us again I was going to kick his ass. Traci laughed and said "Don't sweat him he is just doing his job"...and I remember thinking, "Nothing bothers Traci". I last spoke to him about 3-4 weeks before he left on this last summer tour. Told him I lo0ked forward to catching his Ankh gig in Universal City and having a few drinks...he said "See you then". I wish that was the case brother. I love you! -R

He was a Awsome, driven genius. He was a amaziningly driven Glam God from the purest genetic code anyone ever came out of. He cared more than anyone I ever know and was always there to put a smile on the face of every "Angry Goth Boy" he ever met...Myself implcated. When we hurt he always found the bright side, when we cried he made us laugh, but when we needed a place to scream...he found a better place to be through his music, his mind and his insane logic. He was the best of us and defently the most fun of us. He is Loved and missed and the best friend anyone could ever wish for. Someone who never gave up, and pushed every limit ever! I wish you met my daughter, She would of loved you like we all did Traci. I wish I could say what is on my mind or put it in to words.........but theres no way! You ARE a god amoungst men! I will never forget you the day I picked you up with my sister from that 7-11, and especaly that vibe you passed on to us all. Nor will anyone else. Jady

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Traci and The Peppermint Creeps at the Coconut Teazer while on vacation in 1997 Not only was Traci a very cool person, he hung out for a while and the music was fantastically glam. It is a shame he was taken so young and I'm sure he will be missed tremenduously.

I talked to them online and Traci agreed to do an interview with me for a site I belonged to...I was no pro just a fan he talked with me for over an hour that night...I was fortunate to have recorded the interview and have the memory of a day that was special to me....God Bless Traci!

I knew Traci as Mike, he is my Granddaughter's Dad. I have a number of memories of Mike but the best would have to be when he went with my husband , myself and Brit (our beautiful girl) to Florence, Oregon. The day was rainy like it is a lot and poor Mike got stuck with us, we are sticks in the mud but we had a great day and topped it off by our make-up running cause of the rain! Mike's eyebrows were gone as was my mascara! We laughed hysterically about that! It was a great day, he spent that whole day with Brit, I know she loved that. I am so sad,I feel so bad for Mike and his family and our girl. He always carried himself like a star, all of our pictures of him show a happy guy looking into the camera. I wish I had known we would only have him for a short while. I know for a fact that he lived his life like he wanted and was doing what he always said he would do, become a rock star! He made it and I am sorry I did not keep in touch with him because I truly liked him. I am sorry for the loss of this wonderful human being! Thanks for letting me join and make this tribute.

I've known Traci give or take 15 years. (Starting with the Heart Throb Mob days and going from there.) Through it all, he started me on the path of being okay with who I was and let me know that it "really" was okay to be outside of societies' predestined box. He once told me, "The trick is to be cool with yourself first, then nothing else matters." One of my fondest moments was witnessing Traci (who'd been up all night dying his hair) walk out of a friend’s house at six in the morning to go to a job with the dye still in his hair. With amusement and that grin on his face he said, "Hey, no problem. It'll be extra green!" If memory serves me right, he left it that way a good day or so. Hollywood will never be the same.

User avatar

I first saw Peppermint Creeps when they played with Murderdolls at the Key Club when I was probably 17. Then they started playing shows with my friends BlaQ! He saw me taking pictures of them onstage and asked me if I would do the same and e-mail them to him and I said sure. I started to get to know all of them then, but probably spent the most time talking to Traci. After shows, he would jump off stage, give me a sweaty drummer hug and we'd go have some beers. I remember at the 'Lesbian' video shoot, some guys asked me if I was a male tranvestite prostitute... and I'm a girl... lol, anyway... Traci walks out and says "Are these guys giving you problems?" and the men totally backed off. I haven't been around Hollywood for a while. I was put into rehab and when I finally talked to him after I had detoxed and had about ninety days sober he told me to stay far away from Hollywood if I wanted to remain sober. So I listened to him. I'm going to miss him like crazy. He was the nicest person you would ever meet, hilarious, and his laughter was infectious.
