I first met Steve when he was working in the Training section at DoD a long time ago... He was fun, friendly and always knew the answer to whatever question was asked. Then over time he joined me in IT - he still showed all of his previous attributes but there was more !! Getting to know the man - I learnt of his greatest loves- his wife Kerry and childern (which he would always say how proud he was of them). Since leaving DoD 18mths ago... I continued to run into Steve sitting having a coffee and smoke where I would join him. Steve would show me the latest pictures of his children and the best pic he had taken and of course the latest joke. I'm very sorry to see him taken before his time as he was one of the really nice guys. He WILL be missed by all who knew him as they have lost a dear friend. Ride on my friend.

I remember going for a walk at lunch time when I heard a familiar voice calling out my name. I turned aroud and it was Steve sitting there at Starbucks drinking his coffee and his camera and new zoom lens in hand. For the rest of lunch we just sat there talking / discussing photography and taking pictures of the passing parade. Time was immaterial when we got together and yakked about photography. Thank you for your time and inspiration.

You were my favourite IT guy while I was working for the DoD. You always had a smile and a joke, even if you were in a shitty mood. And you never complained, no matter how basic my IT request had been. We had good chats, which I have to admit, I do miss.

I am saddened by your loss, Steve was a great bloke and a friend to all in the Defence Library Sydney. He often spoke fondly of his wife and children. Peace Steve! Janine x

As I'm the only staff that was older than Steve, he playfully called me "Dad" or "Father". This he became "Son". A terrific mate who was always willing to help anyone. We miss him dearly.
