I watched my murder and the story not only did the story touch me but emphaised the state that our society is in. All he did was care about a girl who never deserved it. The fact that this happend to him and his family is a huge tragidy. He can never be replaced and forgotten. Its a deverstating thing especially as his family will never watch this young man trying to do his best and get by grow and live the life he should've had. My deepest condolences to his family.

Although i did not know shakilus nor his family i felt compelled to leave a tribute after last nights t.v show on bbc3.. its disgusting that these animals could be released into society in just a few years, capital punishment should be brought back for the likes of these human beings ( i use this term loosely) they stole the life of a young man who was on the cusp of adulthood and distroyed a family with there actions.. scum doesnt sum up my feelings towards them.

He didn't bring his own death to himself. He had no idea of her relationship with another boy. He was innocent and the woman who recited arabic had a right, I mean who are you to stop her?! i watched bbc three programme last night and so shocked and it bought tears to my eyes to see what happened and just reading about it 10 to 15 years of sentence is nothing it should have been life sentence or they should have been given the electric chair so they could feel the pain they put this innocent shakilius through.
i did not know Shaki but after watching my murder it really go to me and i am now thinking what has this world come to and may him rest in peace and sorry to all his family and friends and to his mum and other family i bet he is watching over all of you and i bet he has a smile on his face because he is proud of you

I do not know Shaki or any of his family but I feel what has happened though it was a few years ago. I am sure after watching the documentary last night acid memories has arisen.
I have three children and I experianced total shut down with my now 16yr old then 12. My boy was kicked out of school just when he started yr 7. They wanted to put him in a PRU (Pupil Referrel Unit). I totally objected when I visited and realised that smoking was allowed there. PRU's, I learnt, are establishments for "delinqents". However for me PRU's are for youngsters that nobody has anytime with and is just a holding place and a road which leads our children to the jail or to the grave!!
I fought hard to get my son back into school......but came upon so many closed doors. For all who talk crap about "bad parenting" I have news for you......I was so closely involved in my sons life that the only thing I never did was sleep in the same bed as him or sit next to him at school. What our children do when we are not around we can not be accounted for. The picture with this young boy with a knife means nothing to me. He was a soul that had his whole life ahead of him. Life has room for mistakes and corrections!!!
Being let down by institutionalised rasicm I sent my son back to my native West Indian Island where corporal punishment still remains in schools. I learnt that taking him out of this country and environment changed his life completely. He is now back and is completely a different young man, however I still fear for his life because of this society that we live in.
Shaks family I respect and salute you for allowing the media to air this. Its raked up pain again in your spirits but to Shaks mother.......don't let your babys death be in vain. God will lead you to create something in His memory that will help others. I pray that God will heal your broken heart. It may be four yrs ago but to you no doubt four yrs is like yesterday. Shak, from his pics, was a beautiful handsome young man and no matter how our children behave they are just that OUR CHILDREN and we love them with an unconditional love. Who ever wants to portray bitterness and political views let them......everybody is entitled to their own opinion but never let it polute your memorys of your baby. God bless you and your family and I PRAY as a mother who could have lost my son that God will bring positive friends family and even new friends your way to show you that all you need now is Gods strenghth. I watched the programme on bbc3 last next and felt physically sick, that people can be so cruel, rest in peace shakilus, and stay strong his family and friends he really did seem like a lovely boy.

After watching the Drama on BBC3 "My Murder" I felt moved to write this tribute. I am currently a teacher in DEptford and it just got me thinking. I respect so much that your family have never said you were perfectand I hate those who see this as another gang killing. It was not! This was a young man trying to turn his life around and was misled buy someone he believed to be trusted. I hope they never walk from prison and they shame Britain with their cold hearted actions.
I hope as a family you remain strong and my thoughts and prayers are with you especially as the drama on the telly must bring back painful memories. As for your Shakilus I bet you woud have been a joy to teach and hope you are in peace with God.

You seem to have a very serious problem where you say some really awful and detrimental things to a close friend to the late Shakilus Townsend! You are severly hurting a young man who loved Shakilus & is in alot of pain as he will never see his loved one again! I watched the film documentary tonight on bbc3 and this has really angered me that people will go to these lengths to kill and harm others in the way that they do around the country. I have hated knife crime since my beloved friend was taken from me nov 2004 we were 15 and both in a gang I have changed my life became a doctor in respiratory as my friends lung was pierced and every breath he took has inspired me to get out and move on up and now your son brother family member has joined in that the fight against murder will never change we will keep fighting and that's just made me think that if we fight on we may some day get the reaction we want and need . Respect life make a difference positivity against negativity I can't change the world but if 1 person listens I could make a difference and save 1 life . Love to you brother x

I really hope some of the youth will learn something from this. I have so much respect for the family (especially mum Nicola) who allowed this programme to be made. Just watched 'my murder' on BBC3 and it gas literally broken my heart. I can't believe this Samantha girl has done this. The programme portrayed Shak to be so sweet and innocent, and bless him I'm sure he was. So sad that he fell for the wrong girl. It's crazy how 1 thing or day can change someones whole life. The gang of boys and the deceiving girl are evil and stupid human beings - if that's what they are anyway. It's so sad... My heart was beating so fast watching the programme. I really don't know what this world has come to. Definitely puts me off having kids when they can be taken away so easily these days... Gangs need to be stopped. They'll all have to live with their conscience of what they've all done. My thoughts are with his mother, family and friends. So sad to know and see that he was crying for his mum :( bless him. Still can't believe this has happened... Seems so unrealistic but so heartbreaking to know that it is. Dunno what I'd do if this ever happened to my baby brother... I have so much admiration and respect for Nicola (Shakilus' mother) for allowing such a poignant documentary to be shown. I am genuinely shocked at such a tragic and pointless crime, so much so that I was in tears watching the programme. I'm guessing that it is scant consolation that the perpetrators are all serving life imprisonment - that will never bring her son back. I hope that Nicola and all of Shak's family will treasure the memories that they hold of him
