Horra taught me more about the enjoyment of learning and embracing THAT element to eduaction than he did the actual content. I recall many a morning where he would don the red work helmet, pick up the bolt cutters and with purpose and vim destroy the lock on some idiots' stoarge. Chalkboard scratching, that paper dropping on the bridge of someones nose, the borderline lunacy when explaining a DOPS. Stuff a fellow nutbag truly admires in a teacher. The columns will never be the same.

first met Roman as a host of 'trivia' at Frankston rsl, loved his quirky nature and corny jokes, became email friends, and touched base from time to time. I am very sorry to hear of his passing, my heartfelt sympathy to his family
