I worked with Bob for about three years at G.James Glass & Aluminium at Eagle Farm in Brisbane and even though he lived way out in the sticks at Cedar Vale near Beaudesert he was always the first Man in and the last Man out and did his work without any problems unlike many of his fellow employees. Bob would then go all the way home after work and give his attention and love to his wife Dawn and stepson Christian. He was always a truly selfless and a genuine aussie larrikin with a heart of gold. An old mate of mine from Newcastle, Mike Lennard once told me that when he used to pull into the dock at a place Bob worked at in Sydney, Bob would get up from having his lunch and take care of business whilst all the bludgers looked on and that is how I will always remember him, a real Aussie gentleman.
