I Loved Ricky, he was 13 years older than I, but at the age of seven I decided he was going to be the only man ever in my life. so, at the ripe old of seven I married him , while watching an episode of Ozzie and Harriet. The night he died I was watching TV. I think I was thirty by then, but I hurt so much I went in my daughters room alone and cried and cried. I have never done that before about any public figure. My favorite song when I was young was "Hello Mary Lou," and than as I got older I loved "Garden Party." He will forever be my first husband in my heart, and I will always love him. When I was just a little girl about seven-years-old I would sit as close to the television as my mother would let me, and wait for Ricky to sing at the end of each show. He was my first love, and I've always called him my first husband. I'm in my fifties now, but he is still and always will be my first true love.
