Madam: You lived with dignity, decency and love for all that came around you. You allowed God to use you as a vessel of his good works. The time came, and your flesh and body were taken away, but your spirit still lives. You really are not gone because your good spirit will continue to live and be celebrated! Amen.

In our home, she isn't just Mrs. Agbeti or Rebecca. She is "My Becky," a jumble of words all strung together by a two-year-old girl whose face would light up when Becky walked through the front door. Becky always greeted my daughter with the most genuine of complements, always delivered in the same sincere, warm-hearted refrain: "Why Susannah! I like your dress! And your shoes!" And Susannah would just blossom with delight, and start twirling in place or tapping her foot in glee. And Becky would laugh, laugh, laugh. It has been only a year since Becky came into our lives as a friend and nanny to our two young children. From the start, she was like a trusted aunt. She knew how to soothe a worried child when her mom walked out the door; she laughed with admiration when Susannah tried to baby her own dolly. To be sure, Becky was one of the few people whom I felt absolutely comfortable watching my young children. And our time together began to bloom: Our conversations ranged from the pride she felt for her beautiful boys to her travels across the world to her thoughts on politics. I was always a little sad when her husband's car appeared at the cub and and she had to go. She was here the morning of her party. And when we heard the news.... Suffice it to say that we've huddled against one another in a vain attempt to keep the sadness at bay. I hope there is some relief and peace in knowing that your wife, mother, aunt and friend was loved, so very loved. We send our most humble condolences. Susie Ashworth

I first met Mrs. Agbeti at the home of a mutual friend. I met her there a few times. I also spent time with on New Year's Day at a birthday party at the home of another mutual friend. On May 16 I went to an event celebrating the life of someone's father. I came in and sat down. I saw Mrs. Agbeti and went up to say hello. She saw that I was sitting alone and asked me to join her and her husband at their table. I sat with her for about four hours. We went to get food together. We chatted. But most of all, we shared glances and smiles all evening. That was the kind of woman she was. She was always smiling and so welcoming. You just had to look at her and she would give you this wonderful, kind gift - her smile and her warmth. I became tired at around 2AM and said that I was leaving. I said goodbyes to her, her husband and my other friends. Two hours later that great lady had passed away. I cannot get over it to this day and I can hardly believe it. My heart goes out to her family and other friends. We are all very aware of what we will be missing in this world. May the love and kind regard she was always so ready to share surround her now through all eternity.

Your death was sudden. I remember when I heard the news I simply could not believe it to be true. You were just too young but as it slowly occured to me I have realized that you lived your life wonderfully. You were very much loved by everyone.. You lived your life the best way you could. You never had enemies nor did you step on anyone. You were a gentle and a kind soul with a huge heart. You were the very essence of compassion, and of duty. You were a symbol of selfless humanity. A friend to all regardless of race, or color or creed. I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to have known you. . I take solace that you are now in heaven where there is peace. May you loving and gentle soul rest in perfect peace and may God Almighty watch over the children and the loving husband, Dr Agbeti that you left behind. Sun re.

Our family met the Agbeti a long time ago . We have shared many happy times. Mrs. Agbeti was a straight talking woman, full of warmth and love for her husband and children. Her presence was always one not to be forgotten, normally characterized by laughter and, always joyous. We enjoyed her company immensely. Therefore, her passing hits us profoundly with sadness, and brings to the fore-front of our thoughts, the meaning of life. We will miss her very much and pray for the SOUL, that God grant her eternal peace. Also, may the Lord Almighty give Dr. Agbeti and the children, the strength to weather this untimely death of Mrs. Agbeti , as we cherish her memory. Dear friend, you will never be forgotten. Orun re. A few weeks ago , at the Anoima celebration, we sat on the same table, talked about the good old days and what life is now . Last Saturday again, I met you at the door, full of energy and smiling as always. I left early but the next day, a friend called to tell us you have passed. We were shocked and saddened but treasured the time spent together. You have been an inspiration to many people and will be missed. Dr. Agbeti, I was just calling you on that fateful day to find out how she's doing, and my family and I were stunned to hear the word "Madam has passed" from you. We were shocked and saddened. We are grateful to to have had the opportunity of knowing your lovely and devoted wife. No one who knew her could ever forget her pleasant demeanor and her warm smile. She made this world better for our family and for all the others who knew her. It is extremely difficult for my family to accept that she has passed. Blessed be to God for the life of our sister. May her soul rest in perfect peace. Amen. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Agbeti family and to all Ekiti sons and daughters Let me share this passage with you from: I Thessalonians 4:13-18, and I quote........ "But I would not like you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." - I Thessalonians 4:13-18 Rest in perfect peace. Opeyemi Adebayo & Family. NJ. (Ekiti-State)

Late Rebecca Agbeti, Those who go before us are not gone, therefore you live in loving memories forever. I'm at a loss to find the words that will somehow described your memories rather than this poem. <Write by Dear Abby> Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on the snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die. My condolences to Dr. David Agbeti and his children. On behalf of the Agbabiaka's family Mrs. Lupita Agbabiaka

We heard the shocking news from another family friend of ours in California, that the best and most caring person we ever met passed away just like that, there is not enough words of mouth to explain the shock indeed. This was a woman who so much was always ready to give whatever it takes to make the next person happy, very considerate and compassionate. I pray that Almighty God will place her in His bossom and console my brother Dr David Agbeti and the Children, may God forgive her guilt and wash with the perfect blood of Jesus her gentle soul and make her eligible for Heaven. May Jehovah God take excellent care of the family she has left behind. We love you so much my sister but God loved you most and so have a pleasant rest in the bossom of your Father, the Creator of heaven and earth, sleep well and good night my dearest sister inlaw Madam Rebecca Agbeti.... Madam, I'm still speechles. Few hours earlier, you shared your future plans with me, not knowing that we won't have a chance for our conversations again. Death is a parable for us all to cherish the moment. As you have been the wind in your husband's wing, so has your life been inspirational for many of us. Your life has taught many what loyalty is. We thank God for your life. Until we meet again, keep smiling. Dr. David Agbeti: Take heart. May the Lord console you. God shall bless you and your household. Rejoice in the Lord and you shall find peace. He who giveth taketh, and we cannot question His wisdom. One day we all shall go there, where we won't part anymore. -From Chief Lanre Hassan and family

To the Agbeti family, The ultimate in death is the death of a mother and wife and yet it is the fulfillment of God's blessings. If it pleases the Lord to take her, then the author and finisher of our lives have plans to finish all that she started and bless all that she has done. May God's infinite mercy, love, and spirit be with your family. I stand with you in faith to thank God in remembrance of his love for you through her. Please accept my condolence. It is still like a mirage - most unbelievable and "Just Like That..." she was taken away. I am still shocked at the passing of Mrs Agbeti. On Saturday, she came in and very soon was enjoying the drummer's praise-prose - not realizing that those were the final moments of transitioning into God's abode... To God be eternal glory and majesty.. We cannot even question Him. May God forgive all and any inadequacies and accept Madam Rebecca into the bosom of mercy. May God also strengthen Dr David Agbeti, the children and family as we collectively bear this "translation" .
