I knew the dad, grandpa, uncle, and "uncle Gene", when i was a boy. ...learned alot from each of them. How to be a friend, how to be brave, and how to be humble. i'm sure your son, nephew, grandson was a fine young man, and that the grief was and is beyond understanding.....but...... I learned that even though we travel separate paths....that take us far apart, the Lord will bring those worthy, back together. Knowing your family,{ even though in my youth,} I know you all will be together forever. this part of your eternal life is merely a "speed bump"....on your way together to the side of the Lord God. theres not a day that goes by that i don't think about you & that smile..that one morning where you woke me up from sleeping on your couch & telling me Elena go sleep in my bed..theres no need for you to be sleeping out here..you were the sweetest guy i have ever meet & the hottest cowboy there was in okeechobee =)...well i know your having another great birthday this year up there & this year should be funner since you have carson, devon, & two up there with you!!! please watch over me & nick he misses you so much!! & watch over the rest of chobee! love you & miss you soooo much! ♥Elena

Happy Birthday RC!! A few days early I know, but at least it's not late :) They say the first year is the easiest, and I tend to agree. Your Daddy misses you so much, your early morning talks, your mid-day talks, your HUGE bear hugs ans smiles that would make even the grumpiest of attitudes change. He is yearning for your voice and your touch more each day. Uncle Gene is keeping him busy though; I know at times it is probably quite funny looking down on them and listening to them "disagree" and your Daddy talk under his breath :) We love you, but as Aunst Charlotte says, we miss you SO much more. Brad and I spent last Sunday at Kings Island. We haven't been there since the last time you and Landon came up for the summer-almost 8 years ago? I thought of you often, but especially when we went by the water slide and Tower of Terror. And, NO, I still won't ride "Son of Beast"!

I can't believe it's been almost 1 year since you left us. I know you are in a better place, but we miss you soo much and think of you often. I am just ever so grateful that Mason got to spend an entire week with you, working cows, going to the lake, hunting, etc last July. I remember thinking what a good influence you were for him. I will never forget the last time you made me laugh. It was at Chris and Newt's paintball party in ft. Pierce. It had gotten dark and ya'll were still fightin', well the referee called you out and you yelled out, "that's bullshit", we all died laughing. Cause that was just your competitive nature. Never to lose....Love you lots.....

Well it was about a year ago when I came home on leave and the last time i saw you. It was you, Mykee, Wyatt and me and we went to Ft. Pierce to go surfing but the waves weren't big enough so Wyatt and me took you and Mykee on in some good ol' two hand touch football. You and Mykee ran all over us. I remember the wind was blowing so hard but some how yall managed to throw the ball to each other. After that we went to sharky's and ate. I really enjoyed talking to ya RC, you didnt ask questions about what I did just to be nice you were really interested and wanted to know. I thought that was so cool. You were a mans man RC and I loved that I knew you!! Take care buddy! I'll always miss ya!

well, its been a while since i seen u or talked to u. it was such a shock to us all the day that u passed. eddie was so upset, he couldnt believe it. but at least u are in a better place now. just watch over us all and make sure that we are all safe. we all miss u so much and not a day goes my that we dont think about all the memories we all had with u. and i swear, at least twice a day i see someone have a sticker of yurs on the back of a car. it always makes me smile bc it just reminds me of how much u are loved and missed. keep us all strong RC.

Your Daddy came to see you Easter morning, before sunrise, so that he could be the first to tell you Happy Easter..I had some eggs for you, but you know him, he forgot them. Guess I'll have to take them myself!! He had a good day sunday, although I could see the hurt in his eyes from missing you, but Reed kept him on his toes and smiling:) He loves and misses you so much!! Had a rough week last week, thought about you and seen that smile and felt your big hug and realized what big P**** I was being. I miss you Boy. See ya again give them all my love.

Went hunting with him a few times several years ago and he was always a great guy. Truly saddened to hear about this news. RIP RC.

I too saw the Jim Zumbo episode where he was guiding the honored diabled American Vet. I was deeply touched by his kindness and caring for the entire team of hunters. When he lifted the diabled hunter off the swamp rig and carried this American solider to his wheelchair was truly a testament to his bold willingness to help others. I was deeply deeply sadden when at the end of the episode I saw the dedication to RC, although I never met him I can only send my prayers and thoughts to his family and those who really knew him. I just saw the episode with Jim Zumbo and the disabled Vet. His professionalism and genuine personality were an example of the kind of man that he must have been. I just wanted to say thank you to him for embracing America's Wounded Warriors and that I will always remember him for it. SFC James M. Bryan

I too saw the Jim Zumbo episode and thought what a cool young man. I am very sad to hear of his passing he was too young! This life we live is simply a very hard one and i am sure he would want his family to stick together mourn together and get somwhere they can remember him and smile until we are again all together without any pain for all eternity.

It's funny, everytime life seems down, stressed, or just plain miserable, I always seem to see a big RC right in front of my face. On a sign, on a car, on a can, you are always there when I need you, to remember you and see your huge smile..I did not get to know you as well as I wanted, but did know and love you through your dad. He misses you so much. He doesn't talk much (like you didn't know that:) but I can see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice..Please watch out for us from up there... Love you, Shannon and Daddy

Joanna is right. Christmas wasn't the same this year. I kept waiting for you to walk up behind Trista and Newt at the airport or to get out of the car when your Dad and Shannon drove up. There isn't a day that I don't think about you and wish I could have another hug or smile. I know you are watching over us and Addison. I tell her she has her own special angel named R.C. to keep her safe. I miss you....keep Nanny in line up there!

RC Christmas just wasn't the same without you. I miss you being with us and how you always gretaed everyone with a big hug, a toothy smile and an "I love you." The chinese gift exchange was not near as fun as last year when you and Newt ended up with the Hot Dog Wagon and I remember you being so excited about this year. You made such a large impact on so may lives and if I could I would come up there and beg you to come back. I know I am selfish but you are just so special and such a blessing to be around. I just miss you so very much, we all do. Until We meet again.....

I didn't even know R.C. I just happened to be watching the Outdoor Channel with my husband and saw this kid. My husband had already watched it and knew what was coming....I didn't. My heart goes out to the family of this young man taken so early in life. We sometimes are hit with things that make us question why, but you just let faith take over and time be a healer. I am so sorry for your loss. Wendi Hill, Bremen, Alabama
