Jason "Jay" Petroziello, 29, of Scranton, died Friday in Mercy Hospice. His companion is Jim Sylvester. Born May 22, 1979, in Scranton, son of Ronald Paul "Rocky" Petroziello Sr. and the late Carol Ellen "Cookie" Larson Petroziello, he was a former member of St. Peter's Cathedral. Educated in Scranton public schools, he attended Scranton High School. He was a loving, gentle and outstanding son, brother, uncle and nephew who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Also surviving are three sisters, Ellen "Robin" and husband, Cameron Stratz; Theresa "Terri" and husband, Steve Deffenbaugh; and Donna and husband, T.J. Drennan, all of Scranton; three brothers, Steven "Mick" Petroziello and companion, Arthur Slugg; Robert Petroziello and wife, Lena Paranich; and Thomas "TJ" Petroziello, all of Scranton; his godmother and godfather, Troy and Missie Fischbach; a goddaughter, Kaitlynn Petroziello; nieces, nephews, grandnephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald "Butch" Petroziello Jr. A blessing service will be Monday at 8 p.m. in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, 4 to 8 p.m.
