This afternoon I drove past Dunmore House and thought of Pete, Katrina and Family and wondered what they were up to. So I googled them and was so sad to read the news about Pete's death. He was probably about 15 or 16 years old the last time I saw him. He was a lovely kid. My thoughts go to Melinda, Katrina and Family. So sad.

Pete, for a split second we thought we saw you at the Dubbo Show last weekend, but then that realisation hit us that you aren't with us anymore. So sad, but we won't forget you.

Pete. Not a days goes by that I don't think of you. I worked with Pete in 2007 and was sittin at the pub downstairs from our office haveing a drink with him a couple of days before he passed away, If I had known then that I wouldn't get to see him again so much I would have said. He was a great person and helped me out while I was in a new state. Going to work was a pleasure knowing that what ever issues I had he could always put a smile on my face and make me laugh. The day I had to walk back into that office and he was no longer there was the hardest day I have ever had to face. I brought a plant to sit on the window and named it Pete, a Cactus. For me it helped and it made me laugh because he could be prickly but underneath so bueatiful. I am thankful for the way to short a time that I had to spent with him.Pete you had better have a beer waiting for me when we meet again. Pete I will never forget you.

Dear Melinda Palmer and Family, I wanted to take the time to write you today, to express my sympathy for the loss of your partner Pete. As mentioned in the newspaper. Like you, my life has been touched by the untimely death of a loved one. My friends and family were a great comfort, but what helped me to cope was reflecting on the Bible's Hope of seeing my loved one again, in what the Bible calls the Resurrection Hope". When all our dear friends and family that have passed away, will be brought back to life. Here are a couple of scriptures in the Bible which describe this hope. Isaiah 25:8 "He (God) will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces". John 5:28 "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (the voice of Jesus) and come out". I sincerely wish all the best for you and your family at this time. If you have any further questions feel free to speak to Jehovah's Witnesses next time they're in your area. Sincerely, One of Jehovah's Witnesses"

So sad to hear of Pete's passing. He was a very different person, I sometimes did not know how to take him. His strange jokes and bad pick-up lines. But he could always make me laugh and smile. I was living in Moree when I met Pete he was my boyfriends flatmate. I was a masseuse at the time and he rang me one Sunday and said he had done something to his neck and he couldn't move it. I told him my address, I seen him drive past my house 3 times looking for my place. He finally pulled up and came inside and told me that his neck was that bad he could not move it at all.. I laughed as I had seen him turn his head a few times when he was driving around... He then conned me into a 2 hour massage for the price of 1 hour. He was just that kind of a guy who could charm anyone with his personality and that SMILE... He will be sadly missed. Linda-Maree Saggus

Looking at your photos makes us smile, even though we haven't seen you for a while. We remember with fondness those dinner parties we had, thats why your passing has made us so sad. You were great for a ditty, song and a joke, so this poem we'll dedicate to Pete - a great bloke!

We will always remember the happy, fun-loving Pete at Michael & Jo's wedding in Casino. Pete took Mike's wedding boots & cleaned them, he took Lorna to the hairdresser, and best of all, he and Mike rode Harley Davidsons to the church for that grand occasion. We also remember his lively, inventive, joyful dancing at the reception. We will remember Pete with affection. Lorna, Ray & Sue Johnson, Kathryn, Robert, William & Max Hampton and Jan Fisher, Dungog.

Pete insisted he did not want a funeral. His wishes were he wanted to be cremated and his ashes cast over the cliff at Dunmore. It was a place so very dear to Pete

To hear of your passing was so unreal, even today we still expect to recieve a checky email from you. You were a true friend to us when in our hour of need you would always be there. We really appreciated your effort to visit Glenn in hospital when you heard the news of his accident, it certainly meant alot to us. We now see it as a blessing that we had a chance to catch up, as we had lost contact for a while. We will always remember you infectious smile & the way you could always find conversation on any topic. We miss you mate.

The passing of a great man will be missed and remembered for a lifetime. A lifetime of great memories will forever be in my heart. Peter, my tears have stopped and my sadness will slowly depart but Peter, you will be with us forever. Thank you for all your support over the years and I will always cherish our friendship. I hope we meet again in the next world and maybe this time I can assist.

It comes as a shock to me that my mate Pete has left us. I used to live with him when i worked in Moree. We used to laugh a lot a joke even more. The rugby on a saturday afternoon was a common spot for the two of us. Unfortunately i lost contact with him in late 2005 which makes finding this out that much harder to believe. He had an infectious personality to which some people couldn't handle but which i warmly accepted. He was a friend and to which i wish i could share just one more beer as that was what we did, just have one more beer. I'll miss you mate and your hypothetical questions that were a regular in our house!. Many people didn't get you but i did and for that i am grateful that i was able to share time in your life. Rest easy mate and one day lets hope we will meet up again. Yours sincerly, Scott Commens.
