Brother Peter saved my life in St John of God, a brilliant therapist and a compassionate and loving man. He dealt with child abuse victims and had nothing but contempt for the people who committed these crimes. I am deeply saddened by his passing and the treatment he received from the Catholic church, I have left the Catholic church. Peter Burke was a man, who with a life full of faults, loved his God and family with a passion. I was once your Brother, that relationship dying within a dysfunctional system of Church. I admired the fact that you paid a high price for giving some life back to those in our society who our Brothers of St John of God abused. It was not a popular path but it broke the collusion of participating in this crime against humanity. Rest in Deep Peace Br MIchael Gravener
