We were very saddened to learn of Patrick's passing. We had alot of good times and I enjoyed his banter greatly. Showed a deft stepover on the football pitch as well! Alastair, Vicky and Naomi Gray

For those who don't know, I'm Amy, Patrick's eldest daughter. Thank you so much for all the kind messages you've left for Dad. He was lucky to have so many friends, all over the world, who cared about him. As a father, and grandfather, Dad was the best. He was loyal, hardworking, and loving. He put all his effort into whatever he did, as well as always making time to enjoy life, his family, and friends. Dad was one of the strongest, and bravest people I know. I'm also told that he spoke of my sisters and I with pride. I hope that I can honour his memory by being strong and brave like him, and living my life in a way that makes Dad proud. xoxo

My sisters and I thought we'd share the Eulogy we gave at Dad's funeral. Amy - When I was a girl, my Dad wanted me to learn to be a confident public speaker. He divised a game where he would name a topic and I would have to speak about that topic for a minute. I loved this game. I didn't love it because I wanted to speak about some trivial object for a minute. I loved it because I had my Dad's full attention for a whole minute. And what was even better, was that when I reached the minute mark, he always smiled and seemed so impressed and proud of me. So I hope today this game will pay off! When my parents found out I was on the way, my Dad made a very selfless decision. He gave up his friends, family, and life in London, to come to Australia, to be with me and my Mum. I've been told it was without question or thought. That he really wanted to be there for us. Had he made a different decision, I wouldn't have my sisters, and I wouldn't have had all the advantages in life that he worked so hard to give us. His huge sacrifice fills me with awe and gratitude, and is just one example of his great sense of loyalty, and the enormity of his love for my sisters and me. Dad had a great amount of pride for the family he came from. He admired his family's triumphs, hard work, and sense of humour. He was proud to be a Palmer, and he instilled this sense of pride in us. It is something that will remain with me always, and I'll make sure it flows onto Poppy, who her Granddad adored completely.

Sad news for many of his friends and our thougths are with his family. I have very fond memories of playing and watching football with Pat in Taipei where we were both part of the Tien Mu B52 Football Club. Pat in many ways typified the spirit of the Club, always encouraging less talented team mates and helping new players settle into the social scene. He will be missed. Once a B52, always a B52.

You were so good to us, even though we'd only known you for a short while. You were a true friend and a 'top geezer'. You will be sorely missed. Lots of Love, Tammy and Paul.

I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Patrick's passing. Although I didn't know Patrick as well as I would have liked, I would like to think we were something more than casual acquaintances. We did share some laughs and some thoughts. He was a good man. I will remember him in the Green Bar, drinking a pint of Boddinton's, cheering on his favourite team; Arsenal. My Deepest Sympathies, Bolek Jaworski Tien Mu B-52s
