I learnt to play the piano from Marie Reynolds between Yr 3 and Yr 11. Every week I would sit on "the torture stool", I think she was the one to name it that, and there are at least two things I remember about her. One was her insane amount of patience with me, and the other was her sense of humour.
I remember standing in the Goodwood Orphanage classroom as it was then, and deciding between the piano and the guitar - and piano it was! Although I learnt piano for 10 years, I never really stopped playing, and I don't think I possibly could if I tried, thanks to Marie's enthusiasm and encouragement. I don't think I could find a better teacher if I tried!!!
