How do I start to describe the pioneer that showed me the ropes of life? My grandmother was and will always be known as a very unique woman, she had the talent to make you laugh, even when the joke was on you. She cooked up a pot that you could smell from miles. And bake, gosh the tarts, the cup cakes, the johnny cakes, the dumplin soup just everything that my grandma made was heavenly. Even her prayers was something to talk about, she would let you kneel in front of her, put her hand on your head and then pray for you, and believe me, when you got up from off of your knees, you came up as another person. And that never changed, even if you wasn't near her, she would pray for you. And everything that she prayed for, always came through. ALWAYS. She also made sure, that you never went to sleep with an empty stomach. Everywhere that my grandma was you could be sure that there was food, wise words that followed and a lot of LOVE. I guess that is why she was THE GREATEST. And as far as children, biologically she had seven, but actually she had too numerous too mention. Just so many people considered her as their mother. Twenty three grandchildren that gave her a reason for talking, well you know what I mean. She did talk, but only if there was a reason. Like to tell us to go sleep, to go wash up the dishes, but most of all to let us know how much she loved us. And will be praying for us, and hope to meet her in heaven one day. We even had a song for that one. But their was never any envy or jealousy, everybody was welcome to her house, wether it was the one that she had with her late husband in Aruba or the one on the french side of Saint Martin. Oh, yeah. Granny was Sassy. Don't get me wrong, she was baptised when she was a young girl in the Seventh Day Adventist church. But there was nothing that you could tell her that she didn't hand you back in a wise but sassy manner. She had a plaster for every sore. Yeah, that's it. Grandma. You are truly missed. I love you and want you to know that one day I will meet you in heaven. Kisses, La Toya Lake your grand daughter
