Oma's cooking is legendary...she could make any piece of meat and potatoes into a gourmet meal. Every time I make potato salad, I think of her. Cutting up the vegetables, enjoying a bloody Mary (her afternoon cocktail of choice), I can feel her presence with me, singing and humming while she worked in the kitchen. How blessed I was to have my Oma and Opa in my life every summer! I owe my cooking skills to her. I will live my life according to her plan..."make lemonade out of the lemons". I love and miss you so much...rest in peace dearest Oma and thanks for all the blessings you've bestowed on us.

Our beloved Oma was the most amazing woman....she could take any piece of meat and a potato and prepare the most delicious meal. I owe my cooking creativity to her...I tried to pay close attnetion when she was in the kitchen. My favorite dish from her would be potato salad. She took an American dish and placed her twist on it to make it unforgettable. When I make a batch of potato sald, having a bloody Mary is customary, as this was her afternoon beverage. Cutting up the vegetables, I can hear her humming and singing to herself making the preparation phase so much fun. Eating Planter's cheese balls while playing gin rummy was another great time with Oma....I think she found a way to cheat; it seemed that she had the winning hand. Oma always "made lemonade with her lemons". I aim to live my life as she did. The obstacles that she overcame make my life like a golden brick road. I thank her for my strength, showing us how to love, and how to be loved. Every summer that she and Opa came to the United States was magical. How thankful I am to have had such wonderful grandparents to bless my life! Rest in peace Oma. We love you so much and may God be with you. You will be sorely missed, but we're so thankful for the bountiful gifts you've bestowed to us. Your light will shine on throughout the generations as I pass down the gifts you've showered on me to my daughter. With great love and admiration, Michelle
