I only knew him for a short time in the early nineties. It was like th bush was his suburb. he and others could identify a tree, a rock, or a view and know what part of this massive national park they were referring to. Quite amazing. I hope his knowledge has not been lost, I am sure his spirit will not evern be lost-maybe just trekking....

Walked many years ago with Wilf and another chap around the Colo River looking for evidence of the survey for a proposed route for a railway, and discovered Perkins Cave, where Perkins, possibly a surveyor or assistant according to Wilf, painted his name in the 1800s. John Greenland, Woollahra
