Didn't he do some guest shots on some of the star trek series as well?
His character ShoNuf always stuck out in mind despite seeing the film when I was a kid. I just Googled the movie and found out he died so young. It's such a shame to find out. A talented guy.
I recall growing up and having so much love for his character. He truly stole the show in the many scenes he appeared in. Heaven couldn't wait. RIP Mr. Carry.

Just here watching on of my favorite shows 227 and here comes rocket man. handsome, suave, poised Julius Carry.. thank you for the memories".. RIP
I just recently started watching Brisco County Jr. again and couldn't believe that he had passed. When I was a kid I absolutely adored Bruce and Julius (what a dream team) and it made me really sad to read about him passing away. Even 20 years later I'm still still in love with the character and his charm and I will never forget him.
Shonuff is still the Baddest, Meanest, Prettiest Mofo Low Down around this Town!! He should go down as one of the greatest movie Villains of All time! RIP Julius Carry http://sites.google.com/site/lastdragontribute/shonuff---julius-j-carry
One film I watched tonite, The Last Dragon, over the years it been on TV, but I never really sat an watched it until a recording today u amazing actor Julius played the part amazing. Just wanted to say I searched u on internet, and I wanted to say RIP. Shame you never got bigger parts in film and TV. U deserved it.
My absolute favorite on Brisco County-he was everyman plus, and that singing voice! What a talent!
Growing up one of my favorite shows on TV was The Adevtures of Brisco County Jr. The character who always had a funny, whitty come back was Bouler. I love that show so much I had to get the complete series on DVD. It was very sad finding out Julius has passed but he will never be forgotten. That's why I titled this after his famous saying as Bouler, "Damn".
A naturally gifted performer; he will be missed. His roles in "The Last Dragon" and "Brisco County" are the stuff of pop culture legend due to his willingness to inhabit his characters, however over the top they may be. He was a staple on television and lived a very accomplished life on Earth. Julius will live on through his work. There is no chance this gifted actor will be forgotten.
another of one of the more talented yet under-rated actors dies before his time, thank you for the years of entertainment you gave us

I am 51 years old and can remember Julius in many character roles. He was pure class this guy. No matter what teh role, you could tell he was serious about getting it right. Television and the Big Screen will be a darker place without your talents Mr. Carry.
We've been watching all the Brisco episodes through Netflix. I am going to get the Last Dragon too. Amazing actor. We miss you Lord Bowler. We were so sorry the show didn't have more runs but we love the ones that did take place. Binidiciones de Nuevo Mexico. Moosella
You are missed.....god speed
We will always love you. :(
As Lord Bowler in the series "The Adventures of Briscoe County Jr." Julius Carry added a depth to the show that dignified the persona of the Buffalo Soldier in post-civil war America. The highlight of the series may well have been the moment that Brisco showed up destitute on Bowlers doorstep seeking charity and the butler exclaimed, "Yes! Mr. County, His Lordship's faithful sidekick! Do come in!" Seldom has an actor ever made a character as alive and believable as J.C. was able to do with the Bowler character. I'm not very much into martial arts movies - other than Jackie Chan - but I do intend to see "the Last Dragon" just for one more chance to see this great actor in action.
The Last Dragon was an amazing film for me as a 9 year old kid and even up to now at the age of 33. I love the film so much I incorporated the name Last Dragon for my EBay and You Tube accounts. Taimak as Bruce Leroy, Glen Eaton (Where is this funny guy?) as Johnny Yu, Vanity as Laura Charles, Ernie Reyes Jr as Tai and especially Julius as Sho'Nuff will always remain etched in my memory. The film just had that 80's touch of magic complimented by the song Rhythm of the night by DeBarge. Man that is such a good feel song!! I hope a tribute will be made to Julius when the remake is released. Sho'Nuff to me you were and will always be the meanest, prettiest, baddest mo-fo, low-down, around!! RIP
I remember him from Murphy Brown and Brisco County. What great voice. He will be missed.

I recently saw this man in one of, "The Unit's" first season's shows and thought I knew him as Louis when I lived in the San Fernando Valley. His looks, mannerisms and height all seem right but he went by Louis when I knew him from The Church on the Way in Van Nuys, CA. If it's the guy I knew then he was very nice and I was pleasantly surprised to see that he really was an actor when I saw how versatile he was in the part he played. Does anyone out there know him as Louis?
My first encounter with Julius Carry was in his role as Lord Bowler, sometime straight man to Bruce Campbell in Briscoe County, Jr. I say sometime because he was just as funny in his own right. Talk about chemistry! I was addicted thereafter and I would always clear my calendar just to see him and what entanglement Briscoe would get him into. As I got to see him in other roles, I realized just how really versatile he was. When I saw Bruce Campbell in an early episode of "Burn Notice", I thought what a hoot it would be for those two to hook back up in one of those episodes. I even envisioned a script for the two. Sadly, that will never happen. Well, Lord Bowler, look out for Briscoe as he keeps getting in trouble in Miami.
You were amazing. I didn't realize that you were no longer with us. I remember you most from "The Last Dragon". "Kiss my Converse!". Thank you for your contributions Mr. Carry. You will DEFINATELY be missed.
I remember seeing the Last Dragon years ago and loved it . The best bad guy role ever and he owned that role. No one could have done what he did with that role. I think just about every guy out there had to say one of his lines after seeing that movie. My friends and I would watch it and even though we had seen it too many times to count we would always get a laugh out of it , Sho nuff !!!! My friend called me and told me the news and it was very saddening to hear . He will be missd but always rememberd. Sho nuff is the master
I just introduced The Last Dragon to my nine year old daughter about two months ago and it is her favorite movie. My four year old son walks around saying Who's the masta waiting for everybody to say Shonuff. My daughter is the one who told me he died and I am very sorry to hear that. I think it says a lot about him as an actor for people to remember him and his lines from a role he played over 20 years ago and for children today to like it. HE WILL BE MISSED!!!!!
I watch The last dragon like at least once a week just to say his part i own 2 copies of that movie you will be missed. Am i the meanest Shoneff !!!!!!!!
He was very good at what he did....He will be sorely missed by all of his fans. Love and Peace to his family.
I'll always remember Julius for his role in the Last Dragon. "Who da masta??" They all answer, "Sho Nuff." He was great as an actor and won't be forgotten.
A classic clip from the classic movie "The Last Dragon."

12 years agoit is a shame Julius Carry passed away before his time. I always say his Sho'nuff should go down as one of the greatest movie villains of all-time! He was also good as Lord Bowler on The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Nice to see you created a tribute for him. I created a page for him as well on The Last Dragon Tribute site check it out: http://sites.google.com/site/lastdragontribute/shonuff---julius-j-carry
