Joe represented many of us in Arizona, including me. I can't thank him enough for all he did for me. He was a joy to be around and I will miss him dearly. Remembering you, as always.

What a grand tribute from Joe's friends and family. I remembered years ago meeting Keith , Crystal and Kathy at YMCA Family Camp and knowing them for many years growing up in Alhambra. I'm sad to hear of your loss. Joe's children are a proud legacy to the way he enjoyed life. John Trapani

For twenty years we officed together -- we talked law, we talked politics, we talked religion. We laughed a lot (Joe's roaring belly laughs were quite contagious you know) . I would often laugh when I would hear Joe's snores as he took his afternoon catnaps. Every morning for the past 15 years I would straighten the wall hangings on our adjoining wall and grumble to myself " Why can't he just sit in his chair instead of falling into it and bouncing off the wall ?" I loved that old boy like a brother --I will miss our chats about the law, about politics and about religion. I will miss those afternoon sounds of relaxation emanating from his office. What I will miss the most--is Joe. The world is a better place because of his contributions and I sure do miss looking at those crooked wall hangings!!! May my good friend and confidant rest in peace. I will never forget you.

Joe was a special friend and I wil always remember him. He was an honest, intelligent man of strong character who lived his life with purpose. He liked to enjoy life and laughed heartily as we all know. I will have many memories from the courthouse where we worked, his graduation from law school and his beach house where he looked forward to spending more time. I will remember Joe's generosity and truthfulness --you could always count on him to give you his honest opinion. He was a big hearted man proud of his family and enjoying good times with them and his friends. I will miss him very much but am also very grateful to have shared part of my life with him. Blessings to him wherever he is. My sympathies to you Keith and Crystal, Genny Chow

Joe was one of a kind. He was a very generous man, who shared his beach house with many over the long summers. My family was one of the lucky ones to have known him. We will cherish all the great times spend with Joe and the Bernal family down in Baja Malibu. Joe had a love of life and and an infecticious laugh that drew you to him. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment of it. He will be missed by many. We miss his sense of humor and laugh. God bless him and his family. Wahba Family

Crystal, Brandon, and family, I am sorry for the loss of your father, but you know he's up there making everyone laugh. Your father often spoke of you two lovingly. I met your father back in 1987 after I was involved in a motorcycle accident, shortly after he started with AIM. We remained friends throughout the years and worked together on his Arizona motorcycle cases. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have known him and will never forget the good times in days gone by. The one thing I will always remember of Joe is his voice and smile - and oh yea, his trike. I remember him riding into Phoenix back in the late 80's for a party at my house (ABATE) - he was a presence one did not forget. He will be missed and remembered throughout the years. Love ya Joe - ride on and remember "what a ride life was." Love Jeanette

Reading all of your statements i see how much love you have given this man and how hard it must be to let go of someone you love so much. He was so very lucky to have people in his life that loved him and have all these wonderful memories to share.

Gosh... one of my co-workers just took a trip to Alaska and shared pictures of their fishing trip to Sitka. I just couldn't help think while looking at the pictures that all those beautiful views were already taken in by you!!!! As a souvenier I got a beautiful "card-board" postcard from Alaska which I have on my desk and will always remind me of you!! There's no doubt that you've left a void in many lives, but the comfort comes in knowing that you are a better place!!!
