Auntie Jean was the best person I have ever known.
Auntie Jean had the sparkliest blue eyes, a smile that would warm your heart & a mischevious chuckle that you couldn't help but laugh along with. Auntie Jean was my Godmother, my Fairy Godmother & the happiest part of my childhood. We would feed the chooks together, collect the eggs together, water the vegetable gardens together & have the best Christmases together with everyone in the street popping in. Auntie Jean had a heart of gold & if someone brought an unexpected friend along, Auntie Jean always had boxes of chocolates already wrapped in Christmas paper with a blank card on the top hidden in a cupboard & she would write that unexpected visitor's name on the blank card & in a jiffy they would have a gift & feel a welcome part of the celebrations.
Auntie Jean had the best heart & the best spirit & gave so much love & joy & happiness to all & was very much loved by so many.
Every night Auntie Jean would kneel beside me as she tucked me into my little bed & her blue eyes would sparkle & she would say to me:
'Now I lay me down to sleep;
I pray thee Lord my soul to keep;
If I should die before I wake;
I pray thee Lord my soul to take'.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to kneel beside my Auntie Jean's bed about 24 hours before she passed & say that same prayer back to my beautiful Auntie Jean.
There was only & ever will be one Auntie Jean.
Auntie Jean was simply the best.
Auntie Jean..I love you with all my heart - I always have & I always will.
Your God-daughter,
Kerrie Lynne
