My heartfelt sympathy and regard to the Byrne family in their loss
Jack was a towering figure in my formative years, energetic and accomplished and generous in spirit. As a family friend and neighbor, he opened the doors to metalwork and trades, business and manufacturing. Jack was a compelling speaker particularly in the lessons of life, football and business and he shared his experience generously, and held our interest and deep delight.
Jack and Pat Byrne’s lifestyle was family centred and transparent. Our shared experiencing of picnics in Cobbity, days in the surf at Wanda beach, holidays on the South Coast and celebrations in the house and garden that Jack built, were remarkable and lasting memories. These activities and pursuits were a foundation stone to our lives and aspirations. Jack was in many respects a Saint amidst men and respectfully, on behalf of the Egans, we are thankfull for the memories he gave us.

We remember Jack as a warm and good humoured member of GTM Social Golf Club. Jack took his golfing skills seriously as a great competitor, but with the good humour that great men possess.
Although we haven't been blessed with Jack's presence for a while. We remember him with great fondness and miss his dearly.
