I forgot to mention to the celebrant, David Reardon, that my mother was also one of 8. It was also pointed out to me that the funeral was on the 8th as well. As was mentioned during the service, the number 8 is a very prevalent number in our lives. You would think that I would have thought of this when I was speaking to David before the service. I would like to thank David & my brother, Jimmy, for the eulogy & service that day. I recall someone mentioning to me that they thought it was strange that David knew my father. In fact when he mentioned "Gilbert & I" as it was pronounced, David actually meant "Gilbert & Ai" ie Ai is pronounced as "I". It was a bit of a comedy when this was brought to my attention. Overall, it turned out to be a lovely day & all went well. At least both of our parents are together now.
