Freda was the most amazing, loving and generous person I have ever met and I was lucky enough to call her my Grandmother. I have so many memories of summers spent at Freda's house, making paper together, cooking together and her trying to teach me how to knit. Noone ever went hungry or unnoticed when Freda was around. Her big heart and generous spirit lives on in all of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

I remember staying at Freda's as a small child - maybe 7 or 8 - she told me I had to lie down for afternoon quiet time......I was told to sleep in Kath's bed in the end bedroom. When Freda walked away, I jumped out of bed and looked through Kath's drawers - I found some nail poish - yay - every 7 year olds dream - within minutes I coiuld hear Freda coming up the hallway - I bolted back to bed - and played possum! She said did you play with the nail polish?' - I was gobsmacked - how did she know???? And from that point on she was the amazingle awesome - knows everything Freda! .......I mentioned in conversation a couple of years ago that my boys fought over a patch work quilt a friend had given us - within a few weeks Freda turned up on my doorstep with a beautiful quilt that is still on Max's bed today......that is just typical always giving Freda - I will miss her dearly......a remarkable lady - a super mum - and a wonderful aunt!
