I went to see a new dentist today. He noticed I had braces and asked where I had them done. It was 30 years ago and yet I remember it well. Dr Dickensin, second floor, Alcaston Building looking out over spring st. I also remember him as a friendly fellow. I'm sorry to hear he died. I didn't realise until I just looked him up at what a prominent orthodontist he was. I was only 13 or so when I first went to see him. I hope he is still having wonderful adventures.

I am saddened to hear the passing of Dr Dickinson, I was searching for a recommendation from him for a great Dentist as he was a GREAT and WONDERFUL Orthodontist. I so thoroughly enjoyed my visits with Dr Dickinson from 2003-2005. I was in my mid 30's when I decided to have braces. I was so inspired by him, he made me laugh, he was a great story teller and was in awe of all his world travel stories. He was such a inspiration so much so that from the period of 2005-2012 I packed up my family (Husband and 3 children aged 5, 8 and 10 at the time) left Melbourne and went and lived overseas in Dubai, traveled to some 20 countries, met wonderful people from all over the world experienced different cultures. I now have so many wonderful stories to share just like our Dr. Gerald Dickinson. Thank-you and it was a honor being your patient.

Dr, Dickinson was a wonderful man who looked after my teeth nearly twenty-six years ago. I was searching for him to create miracles on my daughters teeth, and was saddened by the news I will not forget him.

sadden to hear the passing of a beautiful man, great sense of humor and full of life, with a great smile, when you were greeted. Looked after my teeth some 40 years ago, my brothers and finally my daughters. Our sympathy to his family who he talked about with such admiration and pride. Gerry, rest in peace

I was really sad to hear of the passing of Dr Dickinson. I was a patient of his until April of 2010. I will miss your sharp wit! Thank so much for looking after my teeth.

Extremely sad to hear of his passing. My sister, her close friend and I were all patients of Dr. Dickinson. I will remember mostly his kindness and his humour. I was always amazed by his stories of travelling as a young man,and sleeping on the beach; clumsily, here, I wish to commend his carefree, youthful spirit which undoubtedly has touched all he knew. I wish to give my condolences to Anne and to all of Gerry's family.

Dear Anne - We were watching the Australian Open today and remembered our lovely visit with you and Gerald in 1999. Golf at Metropolitan and fun at your farm and spectacular beach home. Also the memory of our first meeting in the snow at Selkirk Wilderness snowcat skiing in 1995. Very, very special memories. Love from John and Lydia Goode, Palos Verdes, California

The best boss ever,
Gerry Dickinson will always be forever in our hearts for having the most inspiring spirit & generosity, as a most respected orthodontist and member of the community. My sympathy and love to his beautiful wife, Anne and their children and their families. Our patients, staff, his colleagues and contacts all love him dearly and he & his beautiful, sparkling blue eyes will be sadly missed.
Love Irene

Dear Anne, Sarah, Michael, Mim, Will, Jane, John, Andrew, Reif, Jas & Jett and family, my deepest sympathy to you all. Gerry will be so greatly missed. A full moon will always bring wonderful memories of happy times at Aireys with your family and a glass of good red with Gerry under La Lune. Lizzie xox

14 years agoI am sad to hear of Dr Dickinsons passing and didnt know .I was a 16 yr old when I was sent to his suite in collins st to have my braces fitted. He was always warm and genuine soul. Its 22 years later that I remembered and thought back to the people in my life that made a difference , and the other dayafter being at the dentist I was thinking about what how lucky I was to be a paitent of Dr Dickinson, and what he had done for me .My jaw ,that used to look like a cave man was brought right back and people often admire my smile..My condolences go out to his wife, family , children and nurses and orthodontists that used to work with him.
