So sad to hear of Dee's passing. Lots of love and sympathy to Kerry, Ros and Mark. She was a wonderful, unique person. I first met Dee 30 years ago at the Mornington Leader where she was a journo and I worked part-time in production. She would talk about wanting to start her own newspaper. Two years later I got a phone call from her - she was starting The Independent and she gave me a job. The Dee I got to know was fiercely passionate about journalism - she would always write three times as much as she needed to and she hated cutting her stories. She was interested in everything and was always forthcoming with her opinions. I remember Dee loved wine, cigarettes and talking. I have fond memories of long, boozey, smokey nights spent with Dee and Dennis at their house in Somers just talking about everything and solving the problems of the world. There will never be another one like Dee. She will be sadly missed. - Michael.

My fondest memories are the weekly visits and the special times shared with Mum and our long and cherished conversations ,our dinners out and dinners at home, drives, shopping, sometimes we talked to the wee small hours. It's as if Mum knew that time was slipping by and wanted to tell me and my girls so much before she left us. She shared so many parts of her life with us and so many wonderful stories. I love you Mum. I hope you are now contected to the internet in the sky and can read my email to you. I miss you so much. Love from Ros Carlu Michelle and Catherine and your 4 Great Grandchildren. Maddision, Hallie, Taylor and Hayden.
