Damien Croft Damien, was our brother in law, but foremost he was a mate. We first meet Damien when we purchased the house next door to him at Balcolyn, it probably only took a few weeks and we were having a beer over the fence and sorting out the problems of the world. Although in the last few years we never saw as much of each other due to our move up north, but when we did get to see Rachel & Damien it was always as though we hadn’t left. Damo had a personality about him that was just to love. Someone asked me the other day What was your brother in law like, and I answered, Damien was always a happy go lucky guy that life never seemed to phase, he would always put a smile on your face if you were down and he would do anything to help you or even give up anything for you including the shirt off his back or even the last beer in the fridge, he was just that sort of bloke. I still remember when Damien came to my birthday party on boxing day one year, a regular occurrence, and 1 or 2 beers later decided to show Jacob how to ride a push bike, well most of us know where that ended up with a bone protruding out of his shoulder and Damien saying he wanted to go back to the party and have another beer, but he had Rachel and two ambulance officers to contend with and from that time on I think he knew who was the boss. I’m sure I could go on for a while with a lot of the times Damien made us all laugh, Including the time I jokingly said he would never forgive me for buying the house next door and he’s answer to me was that if I hadn’t he would have never meet his soul mate Rachel. I’m sure everybody here can agree that Damien made an impact on their life just as he did with mine and that he will never be forgotten.. We love you mate Rest in Peace and keep a cold one in the fridge for when we get there….
