My name is Stephanie Smith, my father was John Smith who did his RAAF Navigator training with in Canada with Mr Wasson and the others. These men were an incredible support to my father after the war. I only met Mr Wasson a few times, but the time I will always remember is in July 2003, as my father was dying peacefully in Sutherland Hospital, the men all came to say goodbye. Watching them was so moving, they had been friends for 59 years. The dignity and respect of Mr Wasson will never leave me, it was such a strength for me to draw on.
