Christopher you were one of the best skaters of all times. I remember Nationals in New York. You had to withdraw due to injury. I came up into the stands and gave you some flowers with a balloon attached. When the event ended you stood up and the balloon that said "your the greatest" got away from you and rose to the ceiling.I cannot help but think you rose up to heaven just like that balloon. Enjoy your skating in Heaven as your skating was Heaven on Earth. Love ya, Cathy

Christopher,
We grew up with you, and loved you. You made us laugh every day for 10 years. This is a very sad day for us. You will truly be missed.

Deepest sympathy to all he leaves behind. We have great memories of a CHAMPION!

The unfortunate aspect of this is hearing the news of his death was expected on some level. Christopher Bowman was one of those rare exceptional talents that didn't know his own worth. He was a phenomenal skater and "showman" of course with a radiant smile and electric personality.

When I first saw Christopher Bowman in the 1988 Winter Olympics, I was smitten. (I was 16 years old at the time). Sometimes, I'd imagine him skating to the oldies song, "Sugarshack." The news of his death came as such a shock.

I skated at the same rink Christopher did in the 80's. I loved watching him train. He was so full of life and fun and always made me laugh. He was an amazing person and I will always cherish those memories.

Chris, You were my Grandmothers favorite skater!! You will be missed.... From your old former Zamboni Driver at Van Nuys Iceland, Say Hello to Howard up there for me.

I always enjoyed watching Chris's performance. The snowman!

what a pure tragedy. my prayers and heart goes out to his famil and friends.

I'm so Grateful that you were out here in California in the last year of your life and that I was your student! You were the first one to see me land my double lutz and I will never forget those moments we went to get pizza and "Jack in the Crack" as you called it lol I love you and I'm going to miss you more than you'll ever know!

A vision of beauty

Just so sad...His passion on ice was a thing of beauty
