The best way to search for someone who may have lost their life in the bushfires is to visit www.redcross.org.au All of bushfire survivors were required to register with them, which will help in trying to identify missing persons. Good luck with your search and we all hope and pray that your friend is safe and well.

I hope that everyone affected by the fires will recover well, find a good home if they lost one and look after each other. I also hope that the arsonists will leave you all alone, that no one else gets hurt from the fires and that you will find the rest of your family in the fires. Stay well

As I child I lived among the trees and flowers and these were the best years of my life. I left all that in Europe to live in Melbourne and found places throughout Victoria that took me back to my roots. I can truly understand why in our hearts we gravitate to nature like a moth to a flame… we are one with it. It is a terrible tragedy for so many people to lose their lives… my heart goes out to all those left behind in pain for the loss of their loved ones, their homes and livelihoods. It is difficult to comprehend the level of your grief or what you must be feeling. My prayer for all those affected by this terrible devastation is for you to find some peace in your soul and be able to embrace the love and support from others. I will promise to always be grateful for my life.

Most of us think we have difficult lifes. "oh i have broken up with my boyfriend", "my mother in law is stupid", " my friend is gossiping about me". These are just some examples. We have good lifes. Look at these people, tragic circumstances there in, tragic loses. Why do we like to complain about everything? We are so lucky, we need to learn that things arent that bad. We are here surviving and living. How about the bushfire victims. My heart goes out to them. Guys when we are down and think this is it... life is miserable.... think again!! Life is too short what comes tomorrow we dont know!! With blessings, Derya

. My sense of empathy and compassion for all of the victims of this most devastating disaster is enormous. So much destruction, so many lives lost, so many injuries, families destroyed, wildlife & domestic animals lost, lifetimes of building.. all gone...sigh For all of the people out there who have lost loved ones, My deepest sympathy...I can't even begin to imagine how they are feeling...to the many people who have lost their homes & possessions my heart goes out to you...to all those wonderful volunteers ..You are the Angels that walk here on earth... Please join me in prayer.....I read once that religions are different roads converging upon the same point. What does it matter that we take different roads, as long as we reach the same goal.... Lets pray not only for those whose homes and loved ones have been lost or injured in the fires of recent days, but also for those whose faith has been shaken, for those who stand bewildered and fearful in the midst of this tragedy, for the injured, the bereaved, and the destitute. Our Prayers are seeking to help and heal the injured, and to comfort and calm the bereaved. Our power in prayer to end the fires!!! Through prayer we are present with them in their suffering and sorrow, and can enable them to find purpose, hope and peace again. Thank you for having a kindred soul...all acts of kindness from the heart is returned 3 folds MICHELLE MILLIKIN NSW

To all living in around the Marysville Healsville Kinglake, phesant Creek area's our deepest sympathy. So many memories, so many parties, so much fun we had on and around that hill. Christmas's at Humevale have always been so fondly remembered now more so as it's not there. I'm not sure how many weekends during late 80's early 90's l stayed at the guest house in Marysville for a sneaky weekend in front of the fire drinking good red wine, making memories, l'm lucky to have them now. Watching from nsw where we now live the shock of seeing area's we knew growing up in eltham/diamond creek, kangaroo ground, humevale going up in flames the worry over family in Wallen and Whitelsea. For every one and everything that survived we are truely grateful, for the friends we have lost we are proud to have known them and blessed to to be able to call them friends. They will never be forgotten. Jeff and Debb Wilson( Lamers)

I was fortunate to travel in the Gippsland area when I lived near Melbourne 20 years ago and have followed the stories of the bushfires. My heart breaks for the destruction and loss of human and animal life. I'm so sorry and saddened by the horrific tragedies of these fires. I love Australia and the Aussies, and you are in my thoughts.

Where are words when writing seems absurd I’ll let futility explain Through all the smoke and pain Kilometers away and I breathe their loss I breathe their anguish I breathe their life Even the sun shows its rage today Glowering red Reminding us of blood shed, Bodies without a bed, Those who lie dead. Amidst broken hearts, fallen towns Scorched land with minimal sound, There is hope. by Tara Sargent.

Every day for the past week i have been thinking every one who has been effected by the bushfire i especially think of the children who are so vunerable ,little, joshua levoli sitting in a 4x4 looking out the window crying and looking inconsolable is etched in my mind and chokes me up numerous times in the day CHERRISH ALL CHILDREN FOR THEY ARE THE FUTURE HUG AND KISS THEM AT ALL OPPORTUNITIES .All of australia is thinking of the people in the communities that have been devistated by this tradgedy .I am so happy to have gotten a letter from our deer friend Mange Mcstrang ! tom moore, who survived the whittlesea fire with 1 min to spare he lost all his possetions but we are extremely happy that he is ok so if any one reads this and knows our good mate mange Mcstrange! can you please tell him simon and caitlin from portland say hi and can't wait to have a beer or two with him again. Our thoughts are with everyone and sometimes it is hard to believe but there is eventually light at the end of the tunnel (speaking from experience) there is always people that want to hug and love YOU.

why is life so cruel and oh sad why is it that some people are so bad lighting those fires, so many did die then living amongst them with such a lie so much suffering, so much pain to hurt so many, what's there to gain families torn apart and losing the ones they love let's pray to God for help from above parents lost children, children lost mum and dad siblins lost sibling, it's oh so sad you'll have to be strong to rebuild your lives sons, daughters, husbands and wives hold tight to your families, don't ever let go stay together and love each other so the pain will subside but memories will stay but you'll all find happiness again one day punishment will come to those who have hurt all of you and God will help you, pray, and trust in Him too

I was born & raised in Victoria and now reside in Central Coast Queensland. We have visited family on a regular basis, but have not been home for 2 years. We sit here complaining about the heat & wish it would rain to cool things off. What pitiful wishes these are. I can't imagine what you all are going through & my heart reaches out to all. Fortunately all my family members are safe. Our thoughts & prayers go to all and we can only hope justice is done when those responsible for the inhumane criminal acts of lighting fires & causing so many deaths & total destruction are caught. We, (a few of our treasured friends & neighbours) are doing out utmost to get bedding, linen, towels, toys, books etc & a few sentimental items down to you. Be strong & hug your loved ones daily. God bless you all

No! You ARE all heros - who have selflessly volunteered to help save the homes of your fellow countrymen and women .... even as some of your own homes burned down. In my eyes a hero is someone who puts themselves after someone they think needs their help more - and that is exactly what you have all done. Not for money, not for glory, not for personal gain, but from the goodness of your hears and your willingness to do something good for your country. Salute yourselves and stand tall and proud, as everyone in our country salutes you!!! Love to you all, and blessings Sharon (very proud Aussie living in Jakarta, Indonesia)

to all of you who have survived this halocast you truely have many angels watching over you.....and to those that lost their loved ones ....just put your hand on your heart and you will feel them within you......i have been through a fire and only know what its like to loose everything you own....but not everyone you love......to sam who lost his wife and two beautiful children.....you are now although it is hard to believe have three more angels at your side to walk with you through life till eternity comes and then you will all walk side by side again...........to all of you affected by this horrific fire my heart and prayers are with you.....do not let this destroy you......walk on for those who no longer can but also for yourselves as you are all now instruments of love and compassion to show others who will suffer in the future their is hope......but not without faith.....my husband and i spent valentines day in quiet......the money to your appeal.....and thankfull that we have survived many tragedies in our lives that have seen us rebuild three times.......hard work but i know now when i look back.....the times i couldnt walk i know i was being carried......and at the moment you are all being carried in the arms of something and i dont know what, but i do know it is greater than anything man or nature can do.....hang in there for the sake of your loved ones they are counting on you to carry on for them...........

To all the victims of the devistating fires goes my thought. To the survivors, you have lived through a horror that noone should. I hope you find the strength to carry on. My Father was a CFA volunteer for 24 years with the Goornong Rural FB. I lived for many years with his fire radio going off at all hours. His stories of dedication and grief remain with me now. My brother is now the Captain of the Goornong RFB and he too has had to make some horrible decisions, but the safety of his team is the highest importance. And now my daughter is a volunteer fire fighter with the Mernda group. I understand the stress of not knowing the where abouts friends and relatives and of the shear relief when you hear they are safe. time will heal but we will NEVER forget.

i have seen the beauty of the towns the fire has destroyed only last year. I cannot fathom what you people have been through, it was so sole destroying watching it on television let alone actually being there. You all are hero's not just the police fireys and other emergency units involved. My heart goes out to you all.

My heart goes out to every single person who has lost a loved one, precious pet or home. I have lived in Queensland for 22 yrs now, but my heart is stil in Vic, and this week I have watched unfold with grief and sorrow. Know that all of Australia are behind you. Lainey
