Mucking around on the river with Bazza and Cliffy in Bruce's 15 foot tinny with the old 50 horsepower outboard on it while wagging school holds great memories for me. I don't know how we didn't kill ourselves. Then there was the time we flipped a canoe not far from the boatshed. I was more concerned with keeping my ciggies dry, so I was under the canoe holding the ciggies out of the water while Barry and Cliff were looking for my body! Then there were the Vegemite bombs in cadets. And the butter concentrate fountains. Great memories. I'll miss ya Bazz!

My most dearing memory of Barry was on Australia Day, a few years back, we were in Sydney Cove on the Goreen, it was the Party Boat, everyone and anyone knows, the Goreen was the best party boat on the harbour, anyway, Barry was in the water ftoating in a water tube smoking a cigar drinking a beer telling stories and we all know Barry, just doing his normal larrikan things, ie being funny, witty, resighting poetry telling the odd tale or 2, and I can still see his Beautiful Mum standing on the Goreen being a normal mother worrying about her chicks and saying Barry you come out of the water at this instant, you naughty boy, and of course, Barry being Barry, just laughed and said, Don't worry Mummy I am OK, that is the memory I have of Barry, a larrikan at heart, but a good humanbeing so wherever you roam Barry may the peace be with you, forever in our thoughts and hearts The Bowrings

You were a true individual Baz & there aint many of us left. We laughed our hearts out thru 10 + years of school. The first time when I sat next to you all thru 3rd class & we accidently O/D Mr Porters goldfish, when I couldnt read 'the lesson' in chapel because I couldnt stop laughing & the last time when we were both in Concord Hospital a few years back & you were running around in your 'backless' surgical gown. You had the best end of school party in the boatshed & we saved that girl from drowning. I still have the school photos of us. We also had some pretty funny times like with those QF girls with Mark Johnston in Paddington. You wore the cooked spaghetti wig & we all set fire to a sacrificial lounge chair in the middle of the road. Slightly bizzare but 100% funny. I went to a girls party in Bondi & you were there drinking beer thru her mothers curtain calling it artwork - 'The Shroud of Kyle'. I trust you will be having a excellent time now your really off the reservation. I look forward to seeing you again one day. Cheers Mate. Mark Riddell. PS. Snakes, sausages & spiders.
