I had known Barry since 1980 when I was a young enthusiastic software Engineer. He had a profound influence on me and always encouraged me to improve my professional skills even though, in the early years, I knew I had a lot to learn. I kept persisting with my skills and use them, particulary the ones Barry taught me, to this very day. I kept in touch with Barry, Veronica and his family right up to the end. He will always be in my heart as someone I will miss terribly and I still have trouble believing that he is truly gone.
