Hello, Arthur was a friend of mine during his time as editor of the Southern Highland News in Bowral. Whenever I was feeling down or out with the blues, he'd always have something to say to cheer me up. He kept me going at a time that was difficult for me, with my own father's passing. Mr Haddrick was a good man, and a fine editor and journalist. RIP. Cheers, Jed Kemsley

Farwell Artie and rest in peace after a colourful life painted with fully laden brushes. Looks like you rushed it again to meet your self-imposed deadline. There are many stories. The one I always remembered is where you believed in me and sought me out to give me a break as a cadet journalist. For that I am eternally grateful. I just wish I could have given you some other facts to complete some other stories. Let your best strengths shine on through Luke and the others. By Ric Purcell
