Imam W. D. Muhammad elevated untold millions of persons' thinking, including my own, with his selfless renderings of the blessed knowledge he received from ALLAH. In all honesty I don't believe he was as appreciated and understood as he should have been. Despite all the obstacles he had to penetrate related to egocentric preoccupations of those unappreciative of his service to ALLAH, he continued magnificently in his work. Imam Muhammad's depth of knowledge and simplicity born of an immaculate grace from ALLAH are worthy of legend and being honored as universal treasures for all sentient beings. Imam Muhammad was a principle factor in keeping this world from being in utter chaos. Anyone, regardless of their spiritual beliefs that was in agreement with him was truly rightly guided and was (and is) cognizant of the Infinite Mercy of ALLAH to all sentient beings. The hope of the world is in spiritual essence and service. We would all do well to follow Imam W.D. Muhammad's example ever more. May The Peace And Blessings Of ALLAH Be Upon Imam W.D. Muhammad forever. Sincerely, Shadeed R. Ahmad (7-5-10)

May Allah bless Our Imam with Peace..... he was truly a gift and light to muslims all over the world.. One of the MANY things he taught me was to THINK FOR SELF... and that is a wonderful thing...especially in times like today.Today after being under his teachings for over 30yrs..I insist on thinking for myself and I will never be anyones "interlectual slave "again. Oh Allah thank you for Imam Muhammad.

In The Name of Allah, Who Came to Us In Person - Master Fard Muhammad,,,,And For Allah's last and greatest Messenger, the Hon. Elijah Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) Allah Is The Greatest, We Thank Him for the work in which He used Imam Muhammad was destined to do, it helped the blind and the seeing. No one wants the descendants of the enslaved Africans except Allah and those who servant Him. May Imam Muhammad's family find peace in knowing that all shall fair well with us all. as-salaam alaikum P.S. Holy Qur-an 5:19 teaches us that there was a Messenger predicted therein coming after the last and greatest Messenger-prophet or Prophet-messenger. Moses, being the first Prophet-messenger and Muhammad Ibn Abdullah was the last, and "seal of the prophets".

On Friday April 11th, 1988 (Jumu'ah) I declared "Shahada" on my 24th birthday and from that day forward, Al-Islam has been a blessing for me and the love of Allah (salahlahu-lahi-wa-salaam) has guided me to accept the knowledge and teachings of Imam Warithudeen Mohommed. I just heard of his passing today in Jet Magazine (Oct 13, 2008 issue) My condolences to the Mohammed family. Rest easy in paradise Brother Imam and may almighty Allah (salahlahu-lahi-wa-salaam) grant you the rewards of paradise!...Karim Ahmad Ali

My fondest memory of my Imam was at the passing of his father, Elijah Muhammad when he was lifted on stage on the shoulders of others. It was freeeeezzzzzing in Chicago that day, but no one seem to mind. It was a monumental event. I still see that image in my mind's eye. He was indeed an Imam for all Muslims. I learned more from WD Muhammad then from any other Imam on the planet. He gave Islam a voice in America. Iman WD Muhammad will always be my Imam. I will miss him terribly, but Allah saw fit to call back. May Allah bless him and make his grave wide ans spacious! Allah-u-Akbar!

A-SALAAM-U-ALAIKUM MY GREATEST MEMORIES OF IMAM W.D. MOHAMMED(pbuh) ARE COUNTLESS AND ARE TO GREAT TO SINGLE OUT JUST ONE. HOWEVER MY GREATEST MOMENT FROM THE IMAM WAS AT SAVIUORS DAY 1975 WHEN HE TOOK LEADERSHIP OF THE NATION OF ISLAM BECAUSE IT APPLIES TO THE TASK AT HAND. WHEN ELIJAH MUHAMMAD(pbuh) DIED BELIEVERS DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS NEXT, BUT IT WAS IMAM MOHAMMED WHO TOLD THEM THAT "....WE ARE NOT MOVED BY THE WINDS OF EMOTION......FOR WE ARE A HOUSE BUILT ON DEVINE KNOWLEDGE.....SO WHEN WHEN THE WINDS OF EMOTIONS COME WE WON'T WEEP AND MOAN AND CRY LIKE BABIES...." I BELIEVE THAT ATTITUDE IS THE REASON WHY HIS TEACHINGS WILL FOREVER LIVE THROUGH HIS FOLLOWING AND WE WILL BECOME EVEN STRONGER. SHAHEED MUHAMMAD, LOS ANGELES, CA

With Allah's Name the Merciful Benefactor, the Merciful Redeemer: Before I even state my name I would like to upgrade the subject to: "Why Imam W. Deen Mohammed IS My Leader". I offer this modification because even though Imam Mohammed's body is no longer with us; his wisdom, his enlightenment, and his insight still leads me and will continue to lead me all my life and hopefully my children and their children and their children's children, and forever. On April 25, 1975, Imam Wallace D. (Warith Deen) Mohammed gave me the name 'Agin Muhammad; under his father, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, I was called Granville 2X. I heard him speak to us, ministers, the afternoon after his father passed; and I went home and told my wife, the Late June Latifah Muhammad, that we had not lost anything--we had received a great increase. One day while he was teaching us on Stony Island about Pharaoh; I had just gotten an arabic dictionary. He told us that in arabic Pharaoh is Fir'aun. I hurriedly found Fir'aun in the dictionary while he was still talking and I observed that he took us to the root word farra'a noting the shaddah on the middle radical connoting intensive and extensive energy in the act of divisiveness. He expounded on the various shades of meanings of words derive from that root word. THAT WAS THE DAY I BEGAN TO UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF MAKING CONNECTIONS. As I learned to read the Holy Qur'an (which I am still learning) I observed in 12:2 that Allah says that He revealed the Qur'an in arabic that we might make the connections. Most translations say that you may get understanding or learn wisdom---But what is understanding and/or wisdom but "receiving new information and connecting with that which you are already familiar so that you can benefit from the new infromation. The word that is translated understanding or wisdom is ta'qiluun; it is derived from 'aqala which to tie or bind. From this root word we get the 'aql which means "mind" because it is with the mind that we make intelligent connections. If we will but reflect; Imam W. Deen Mohammed placed great emphasis on making the connections. He taught us that everthing is connected. This process of "making connections" that I learned from Imam W. Deen Mohammed has benefitted me beyound measure in my life. I recently labeled that benefit in my life as a "MRM". I know we are familiar with an MRI; but an MRM is a MENTAL REPONSE MODIFICATION. This MRM benefits me not just in my religious studies but in every aspect of my life, every endeavor, every pursuit. THIS IS JUST A GLIMPSE OF WHY IMAM W. DEEN MOHAMMED IS MY LEADER--THE LEADER IS GONE BUT THE LEADERSHIP REMAINS AND WILL REMAIN FOREVER THROUGH OUR PROGENY. As-Salaamu-'Alaikum, Ramadan Mubarak & 'Eid Sa'eed, 'Agin Muhammad, Sr.

Alhumdu-li-llah, I was a follower of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad in 1975 when I was introduced to our beloved Imam W. Deen Mohammed at Savior's Day. I was like most who are bold enough to admit it, apprehensive at our then Supreme Minister. Changing the teachings that we so loved. Ah, but he did take the Monkey off our backs, he gave us the freedom to think, and we used that freedom. He explained, that Allah(swt) wanted us to be in control of our own lives. As we come to understand it was not only his unique apporach to understandig the Qur'an it was his boldness and "Moral Courage" that won us over. Imam Mohammed's transitioning of the Nation of Islam was the single most profound event to happen on the shores of this country, and Allah blessed many of us to see it. Much Love Brother Imam, May Allah (swt) grant you the paridise!

I forever thank Allah for the introduction into my life of Imam W. D. Mohammed on Feb. 26th, 1975. I was a young student minister in the Nation of Islam under Minister Abdul Rahman in Atanta Ga. My name at that time was Christopher 2X Minor; I later became Taalib-Uddin Abdullah. My first son, was named after Imam Mohammed. I had always It was Imam Mohammed that put me on the path to obtain accurate religious, scriptural, and spiritual knowledge. To this day, I am still on that path. Though I physically left the Imam's community in 1977, my heart remained with the the wonderful spiritual family that I left behind. His approach to Islam was both the most rational and intuitive approach that I have been introduced to. He was my first and last Imam. To the family of Imam Mohammed and to all of his followers, especially those of the Atlanta Masjid and Masjid Mu'minun, I send my Condolence.

May Allah grant our great leader a lofty station in Paradise. Imam W D Mohammed worked tirelessly for 33 years to evolved us from being a baby nation as the Honarable Elijah Muhammad described us into full grown adults. He moved us from a language base which was kindergarten to one taking us into Allah's Garden. As a good parent whose sole desire is to live long enough to see their children capable of taking care of themselves, Imam Mohammed did the same with us. We are now ready brothers and sisters to remake the world for this old world order is finished. Let all of those African Americans who think a check from the government is forthcoming for the period of slavery is useless. Reparations for slavery is in the leadership of Imam W D Mohammed. The knowledge that this great man left with us is our reparations we need no more. In the future anyone writing books on African American history must include Imam W D Mohammed as well as the Honorable Elijah Muhammad in those books or the authors should be labeled robbers and thieves. Imam W D Mohammed represents the essence of African American history. Al Quran states clearly:"Mohammed is a mercy to the worlds (PBUH)" Imam W D Mohammed was missioned as a mercy to us so he could lead us the one who is a mercy to the world Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). The works of Imam W.D. MOhammed were masterful. Allah placed him over the storehouse as He did Joseph. Imam Mohammed watsed no time in feeding the masses once he was placed over the storehouse for the pouring out of wisdom never ceased. May Allah shower him with the bleesings of Paradise.... Al humdulilah for the many wonderful inspirational teachings on Al Islam. I have learned a lot from your many lectures, and examples of a true American Muslim patriot of his faith and country. Thank Allah for your brief sojourn here with us. You will go down in history along with other great heroes.

I thank Allah for sharing Our Imam with us for this period of time. He has gone to paradise and has left us the baton. I love history and in the history of our people in this country Our Beloved Brother was the best. He told us to love Allah first and don't worship a man not because he said so but because Allah said so. I grew up around the Nation of Islam, but it wasn't until I came back home to Oakland that I excepted Islam after being exposed to the teachings of W D Muhammad in 1978. He used to say "I have one foot here and the other in the grave". He reminded us that you must live each day like you're going to live forever and live each day like you're going to die tomorrow. He set the example for us by following the example that our Prophet (PBUH) left for us. The best tribute we can show ourselves and the world, that We have the Best, is to pull out his books, tapes, videos and Our Qurans and follow the inspiration that Allah used him to ignite in our humanity, by giving us this message in such a simple and clear way. All of us have been taught leadership and to respect leadership. The mission is ours now and the battle for freedom is here. Let's Remake the World so those coming behind us can have a better life. We must all put our best foot forward and persevere and let Allah help us to show the world that we have the best, and in this day and modern times, Our Beloved Brother was the Best! Alhumdu-li-llah My Imam and Brother W.D. Mohammed, I met you in the spirit of the main stream teaching of Al-Islam in 1975. In my confinment at that time your father's teachings was the order of the day, being such a young student and new member i was mostly influnced by the imegrent Community(orthodox); but your intervention and consistence, helped me to stay focuse, to ride the waves of doubt and confusion. I could say much more as well as the rest of us ; we pray that Allah Forgive us of our sins and bless us all with the paridise , Your Student and your Brother Always In Al-Islam Bilal Abdul Alim Muhammad

It was here in Boston that I became Muslim at Masjid Al-Qur'an. The teachings, principles, social work, and community life is what keeps me striving to uphold Islam in America. Warith Deen Mohammed was and still is the leader that freed the African American mind in America. I am honored to have become a Muslim under the leadership of Imam Warith Deen Mohammed. I commit teaching my daughter the same lessons that keep me firmly grounded and committed for life. Aamira Marshall

I am sadden with a human-kind of loss that my spiritual father has journeyed home. I learned the taste of water through Iman WD and for his teachings, my head found thought direction to something greater than he. He gave me choice free from the ghost of religions and certainty for a steadfastness to this life, my course. I hear, but I don't resolve him in death, but to the greater transformation nearer to that which is Creator, Eternal. A paradise for the devote, a soul worthy in submission, diligent in service. I am most pleased to recall the last time that he, two other good brothers and i met in his office in Harvey. I was blessed to hug him and let him know that I loved him and he responded in kind. So, I am okay with the decrees of our Lord. Those of us who new him and have been his students for almost 4 decades have a great appreciation for his being inspired to invite human beings out of the darkness of ignorance into the light of truth from Al-Qur'an and the Life Example of our Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) May Allah subhana wa taala grant him the highest place in the paradise in the company of our Nabi who he worked hard to support.

May Allah be with you. I traveled all over in my youth listening to Imam W.D. Mohammad Baltimore, Raleigh,Washington DC ,Chicago, Atlanta These trips gave time for me to bond with my own father a former Imam in NC. I have profound respect for a man with the level of his courage and humility to address all social concerns and provided opportunity to bridge gaps between different faiths. He will be missed but more so I hope that many will be galvanized by his work and message and not be set back by his departure to the garden. Our brothers and sisters do not be dicourage by the lack of news coverage of his passing but do what you can to extend his body of work along so that other lives can be impacted. Lets be more charitable and more visible in the community and reassert our social morality though our own behavior. As Salaam Alaikum.
