I never had the opportunity to met you Todd, but many years ago I attened Bethel Baptist with your dad, Uncle Wade and Aunt Tanya, I went to Muirlands Jr. High with Tanya and I am a Hoover Cardinal class of 88, so I feel like I knew you. What a fine example of how a young man should be. I will keep you in my prayers. Thank you Todd, for the joy and happiness you gave in the short time you were here.....Rest In Peace Merecede

Hello to all of the loving wonderful people who loved and paid tribute to my grandson Todd. Many of you heard me speak at Todd’s funeral about some of his must memorable moments and when he decided at about the age of 4 that he was the “Bestest”. Tetter as we called him had the looks and personality of his Mother Mia and Granddad Donnie, beautiful, kind and funny although I must say his other Grandparents and family possessed the same qualities. Todd was very fortune to have wonderful people around him who loved him dearly. One of the must beautiful moments that I have ever witness and that will be forever etched in my mind is a morning in which I watched as his sister Ashlie wake him up, she never called his name she played with him until he awake, she pulled up a stool beside his bed and sat she then preceded to tickle Todd’s nose a little, he would move about with a faint smile and then Ashlie would turn and look at me with her huge beautiful dark eyes and smile as if to say, did you see that? She continued to tickle him or pinch his face etc. until he wake with a big smile on his face! Todd’s smile and Ashlie’s smile that morning brings a smile inside me every time I think of that it.. Todd’s benevolent, perspicacious, resilient personality started with the perception that he was the “Bestest” Todd follow “The Four Agreement” and “As a Man Thinketh So Shall He Be” without even knowing it. As I watched all of his “Peers” at the barn fire, the memorial and funeral I thought to myself if Todd’s is watching he would say that each and everyone of his “Peers” are also “The Bestest” Grandma Vivi

I never knew Todd Doxey existed, I just happened to be surfing the internet and had read about him. It's NOT often when you hear of a young man being so talented, determined and pleasant. From what I have been hearing, Todd had a big heart full of love. Reading about him just makes me wish I would have met him. It's good to know that he is in a better and safer place. He is an angel that belongs with the other angels. There is a Football Heavan just for Todd!

I never met Todd but my father did. My father is Bud Maloney, Hoover Class of 1942 and former Union/Tribune sportswriter. As an alumni and sportswriter, my dad has always taken an interest in Hoover sports. When Todd was at Hoover football practice my dad often stopped by to observe and watch the boys practice. My dad would walk the sidelines and sometimes chat with the coaches. Apparently Todd noticed my dad hanging around and after a while he would say hi to my dad and ask him how he was doing. My dad was impressed that a young man would take the time to acknowledge an old guy to whom he had not been introduced. My dad was also impressed with Todd's talent and thought Todd would do great things in college and beyond. My dad was looking forward to Todd's picture hanging in the Hoover gym one day as inspirtation to other Hoover athletes. My prayers are with Todd's family and friends as I also mourn Todd's untimely death. As evidenced by this site, Todd was a special young man.

Well Little Todd you do it again. Packed Qualcomm stadium for all to see your coming out party and you did not disappoint. Your whole family and friends were there spread out all over the staduim to see you play. Your number shown brightly for all to see and man oh man it was heaven. I get goose bumps just thinking how well you played considering all the pressure there was this glowing effect around you the entire game. I am really happy I got a chance to see you put on a show. Qualcomm stadium will never be the same. You and your teammates of Oregon really had a spectacular game to the end which is typical of the way you have always played keeping people in the seats to the end and I must say it was worth it. I cannot wait till we see you again because this performance was like heaven so smooth. Hit me up next time you are in town, I look forward to the visit bring me some Oregon ducks gear also I will wear it with honor. Got to get back to work but miss you and talk with you soon. Lots of Love Uncle Tex!! God Bless!

Hey Little Brother. Todd "One" I miss you. I kept seeing your number in the Holiday Bowl but it wasn't you. You should have been there. I think about you all the time. This was your year. I will never forget that you were the man and couldn't nothing stop you but God bringing you home. The whole family was at the game and Grandmother got a helmet signed by all the players. We miss you Todd. I will talk with you soon. Love Sly

We lost our son the month before Todd. He was washed off some rocks in Australia by a rogue wave and they have never found him. You can read Jeremy's (23) story at the site his friends put together jeremyearnshaw.com. My hearts are with your family as you ride this emotional wave...blessing and love from Alaska...Ruth

I as well read this story just today online. I did not know this obviously incredible young man. But would have been honored to know him. This story has made my day sad, but it also brought a smile to know that there still are young men with respect & ambition for others & a true future. It is so inspiring to hear the stories from the people who knew him best and to know that his life will be remembered as a positive one. His life shows that no matter where you grow up, or how rough things are for you, you can overcome anything. I know he loved his Grandmama and that she will miss him terribly. But I pray she and her family have a strong faith in our Lord & Savior and that she knows she will see him again one day. God has his reasons for everything, even though we do not understand, so please do not be angry with God. He will never leave us or forsake us!!! You all will be in my prayers and Todd has truly taught me a lesson in human kindness & love. What a good looking young man, and I agree, those he would have met in life are being cheated out of a great friend. May his teammates play every game for him and keep his memory alive. May the Lord keep all of you in his care & you should be blessed that you knew & had him in your life as long as you did. I hope others will read this story and be inspired to do great things with a true loving heart..God Bless All Who Knew Him My love always, A New Fan of #29-RIP

I read this story today and I am so saddened. What a great talent and a great spirit. My deepest sympathies to Todd's family. Words can not express my feelings how heavy you are on my heart. Be blessed and find comfort in memories. Sly, I cried reading your message. I am very, very sorry. Give your grandmother and hug and a kiss and let her know she is in many peoples prayers. Hey little brother. Man, did enjoy the game. Did you see how your boys played for you. Grandmomma was so proud of you as we all were. Damn I miss you. How are you doing up in heaven. You need to come down and speak to me sometimes. The whole family is still sick behind you leaving us. But we understand somewhat. They sure did blow out Washington and you know that everyone got you jersey on. Todd I love you and I will see you in my dreams when we talk about football and like I said keep an eye on Grandmother and Granddaddy they miss you alot. She don't sleep that good anymore so you need to come and whisper in her ear and let her know its ok. U got this..... Holla at you later. Bye baby boy. Love Sly

I never met Todd, but I didn't have to meet him to see that he had a great soul. No one will ever know why God decides to take his children back to him so soon, but we know he is now in a better place. My condolences go out to his friends and family.. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 4:16-15:8

I just read your story, and I can't express how much pain I feel not even have met you. It seems you were an incredible person with a great heart! I couldn't hold back my emotions as I started to tear of the impact you have made, and how now you are remembered. My dearest condolences go to your family, friends and especially your grandmother. It is especially tough when someone we love passes away so young, because they had so much to still give to this world.. but God has his reasons. You have touched so many and you will not be forgotten.. GOD BLESS YOU!
