When I was a child, my grandfather who had fought in the war, and survived the Great Depression told me that the world was a very cruel place. It was only after I got to be an adult that I would realize how very right he was. So much so that at times it makes it very difficult to go on living in such a hate filled place. What happened to Jamiel and his family was a tragedy. It breaks my heart everytime I hear about a young person like Jamiel getting killed because they have not had the chance to fully live their lives. When its a good person who inspires others like Jamiel did for soo many others. Then its a loss to the entire world. However as you look around the world today and all the senseless violence this is a pattern that is permeating every crevice of society. There really is no safe place anymore. I feel so bad for the youth of today because they have alot to deal with to begin with. Where I grew up on the east coast, there has been 4 murders in less than a week. One of these was a 2year old who was shot in the head. The only saving grace is knowing that when God himself looks down and sees whats going on in the world he must feel about as much rage and sadness as we all do right now. RIP-Jamiel

This is so sad.I can never understand why people choose to murder children the way they do and it hurts to know the kind of cruel world we live in and sometimes have no way of telling when someone or something will take the one you love away from you for no reason at all,but all i can say is that he is in gods loving arms right now and watching over all his loved ones and friends and even though it's painful he isn't suffering anymore and will forever be safe in gods world.Bless Jamiel's family and him also.R.I.P Sweet angel.

I have already relayed my sympathies and deep sorrow for your loss. Jamiel Sr., thank you for your kind responses to my emails, sir. Thanks to your wife for her service to this nation. I think it is important that everyone thanks you and your family for your courage in standing up for a cause, one that perhaps could not have been so well represented without you. Special Order 40 must go down! Please know that I, my family and many Americans across the nation will stand with you!

Family, I personally did not know your son but I just want to let you know that my heart is aching to this very day from the first time I heard of this tradegy. I was walking in the gas station and just so happened to pass by the newspaper which showed the funeral service and at that very moment I fell to my knees, and from that day I have been commited to read every article, every news clipping, view every video clip because I felt that apart of me had also died as well. I have no idea what it feels like and what your going through but just know that myself and my family are thankful that God designed you and your wife to come togeher to raise such a wonderful young man,I know Jamiel wouldn't have wanted it any other way:) I hear of crimes every day but one such as this has made me realized that the devil is always busy but God has the master plan. My eyes are all dried out from the tears that I have shed for you Mr.and Mrs.Shaw. I just want you to know that as a god-fearing 23 year single parent "I LOVE YOU MY BROTHER AND SISTER IN CHRIST" I WILL ALWAYS KEEP YOU AND YOUR SONS LEGACY IN MY HEART!" (Mr.and Mrs. Shaw if you get a chance to read this Please, please send me an email my address is Jahmyasmom1984@yahoo.com I would love to converse with you if ever your availibale)

I did not know your family or your beautiful Son Jamiel. I watched your story on You Tube and am horrified and deeply saddened that this was able to happen on American soil to a fine upstanding soul and family. My Father and his Brothers fought valiently for all of the precious rights we hold as American Citizens just as Sgt. Anita Shaw continues to do today. I am signing every petition I can find as well as contacting every politician that will listen to this enormous glitch of protecting illegals, especially violent offenders such as Pedro Espinoza. I am sure that this is not what Sgt. Shaw is fighting for. Please know that with every letter that I write and every petition that I sign, I will always have Jamiel and his family in my mind and heart. Jamiel's Law is a MUST and I am so happy to see that people such as Bill O'rielly are backing these efforts. May God bless everyone that has been affected by Jamiel's tragic passing. America is less of a country today having lost such a promising soul as Jamiel. Thank you so much Sgt. Shaw for continuing to fight for our rights as American Citizens. I know Jamiel is looking down from Heaven and saying, "Look, That's MY Mom! I am SOOO Blessed to have her!" God Bless All Of You Michelle

I have lost many friends and it is a painful feeling to bare. I did not know Jamiel but my little brother was on the football team and attended school with Jamiel. It saddens me that this is happenning to our youth. I cried because this seems like nightmare....and I realize more and more that people are losing their compassion and respect for human life. I am in College and Jamiel has been our subject of discussion throughout many of our class sessions. Many of my male classmates wear T-shirts in rememberance of a young soul lost. We will always remember Jamiel and send our deepest condolences to his family.

Your toughness, dedication and passion is an example for us all. With you and Walter Payton looking down, I know heaven's got one great football team. Thanks, Jamie

There isn't a day that go by that I don't think about and miss JAS, my house was like his second home. There are no many memories in that house. The person that killed JAS has upset so many lives. The only thing that keep us going is the faith that we have in God and in all of the memories that we have of JAS. Our lives will never be the same, but we are determined to make a difference in our communites.

I don’t know Jamiel, I pray for him now and will always. I have twin boys his age, hearing this story I cry! We are all Americans, black white or whatever, why are our cities more dangerous than Iraq. Why are illegal immigrant gang members terrorizing our streets? Please do not allow Jamiels good example or path to fade. He was a beacon for young people to follow and we need Jamiels desperately. Mr. Shaw I read your Memory of Jamiel and I am taking your advice, I will contact friends, family and my local Goverment as they (Goverment) are failing us. God bless Jamiel and your family. so sorry for your loss i know nothing will bring this young man back but i just hope for the sake of many thousands of other americans already murdered by illegal aliens and many many thousands of future dead americans at the hands of illegal aliens including drunk dirver illegals that you sue the city county of los angeles and the state of california and all the no good scumbag elected anti american officials who are responsible for this and thousands of deaths of americans they all have blood on thier hands and should be made to pay with hundreds of millions of dollars because that is the only thing these no good anti american enablers of these killers understand the mighty dollar and i hope you make them all pay sorry if i sound angry but i as many americans know people killed and maimed by illegal aliens with the help of liberal elected officials and all could have been avoided if the law was enforced but that would cost them money and votes and thats more important to them than an american life

My name is Jamiel Shaw Sr. I would like to thank everybody for the kind things they said about Jas. We are very sad and hurt about Jas being Murdered. We still cannot believe it happened. We miss him so much. His smile would light up the room. He knew everbody of all races. We are devastated that this was so senseless and preventable. The system let him down. Everday I try figure out what could I have done to get him home safely. If only the proper authorties would of did their jobs. Pedro Espinosa the illegal Alien Gang member was in their hands. If someone one would of checked his immagration status Jamiel would be here today. I am very angry that the people in charge of protecting us, think very little of of us Even though the people that killed my son were Latinos, please do not take it out on all Latinos. We respect the hard working Latinos, illegal and legal. Jas was raised around latinos his whole life. Every sports team he played on there were Latinos on the team. His high school was mixture of all races. I am madder than anyone could be that he was killed by a Illegal alien that was a member of the 18th street gang. If you need to vent about this problem do something positive. Go to jamielslaw.com and read about this law that we are tryin to pass. You will never know the pain we feel. If you do nothing about this problem you might. Do not feel that you cannot do anything! Just look in the mirror, who do you see. Wherever you live start on that street, that what we did. Jas was MURDERED on the same street that he was born on,that's not right. Everytime I go outside I can see him laying in the street bleeding and DEAD. If you are tired of this kind of stuff then do something beside talking. Write to your city council, the mayor, the governor. It is up to us to make it better. Please do not think that this MURDERING Latino gangbanger represents the beautiful Latino community.

Myspace group I would like to send Mr. and Mrs. Shaw my deepest condolences for the loss of their rising star. As a Latino immigrant in this country, I would also like to thank you for not being hateful towards the my community in response to your loss. I also admire your initiative towards unifying the African American and Latino communities. I would also like to thank Mrs. Shaw for her work in the armed forces to protect the U.S. I will forever be greatful!!! I know J Shaw will rest in peace and is proud of your actions.

The gang issues are totally out of hand. I was deeply saddend to hear of what happened to Jamiel. You would think that the killing would stop for a while there was so much talk of peace and that the non sense has to stop, bu my friends son was just killed last week and I continue to hear of more killings each day on the news. I am feeling alot of anger but I want to channel it in a positive way. I have sent an email to the congressman and I am looking for others who are interested in taking a stand. We need to see what can be done. The violance will not stop until some type of action has been taken with in our government. We do not want to loose not one more precious life.

My nephew didn't deserve to be gunned down! I miss him soooo much! Our home is not the same now. My brother is so sad. Before Jas was killed, I could literally count on one hand the times I saw him cry. Now he cries and cries and cries. This has hurt our family to the core. My mom cries and she looks so sad. I'm tring to be strong, but it's sooo hard!! I wish I didn't see Jas bleeding in the streets. It's so hard to get that picture out of my head. My sister-in-law is so sad! Jas brother Thomas keeps saying, "I wish Jas would bust out of the coffin and come home". Only God knows why...and only God is able to make something good come from this shocking tragedy! I hope that no one reading this will ever feel pain like this!!! God Bless...
