Gerry and I were always close, even as children. Peggy and Denis seemed to be a pair, and Gerry and I were the other set. He was always such a big part of my life. He lived with me for 5 years in Northeast Tacoma. My children adored him. He was the only male in their lives that didn't hurt them or leave them. He considered them the children he couldn't have. He loved home made macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, pumpkin pie, and the Mariners. There are so many memories that it is hard to write any one of them down. He was my staunchest ally, even when others in the family weren't talking to me, Ger never turned his back. I loved him so, and miss him every day. The day he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a day I will always remember. He fought long and hard for that privilege. He had such a strong testimony and wanted so much to join with the Saints. When it was finally accomplished, he was ecstatic. He was faithful to the end of his life, and influenced untold numbers of people. Bless you Ger.

It's been 5 months since you passed and the memories are still so fresh in my mind (that's why I want to hear other people memories with you also). I just wanted to let you know that I love and miss you with all my heart, you and I were a lot closer than most Great Niece- Great Uncle relatives are and I am so happy and proud that I got to spend so much time with you whether it was just watching baseball and eating mac&cheese at Buela's house on a Sunday evening, or gathering around the Christmas tree to open presents, or even (my favorite) going to a mariners game together and getting matching hats, you were always so happy. I wish you could be here for my baptism to witness me becoming a member of the church but I know that you are watching me always and that you are proud of me. I love you to the moon and back (:
