When I watch misses Getty, White, Arthur and McClanahan I'm reminded that no matter what race or ethnicity, we are all the same. I'm an African-American woman with Caucasian, Hispanic and Asian friends, male and female, young and old; and the one thing we have in common is that we all loved those Golden Girls. I'm grateful that Betty White is still here bringing laughs to us all, but I sure do miss the other ladies. I felt like a member of my family left when I heard of Miss Getty's, Arthur's and McClanahan's passings. Must be a hoot in heaven with them there.

I don't live in the U.S. but the four Golden Girls are like my family. I was so sad when Estelle passed and worst when Bea passed too and now Rue! How much can a woman who adores the girls take. I miss them so much even though the show is no longer on TV. All the best to the families.

"THE GOLDEN GIRLS" there will never be a sophia, dorothy, blanche, and rose like the ones who played them. May god keep both of u and R. I. P both mom and daughter sophia and dorothy

The show and its characters of Golden Girls were so relaxing, especially when you had a bad day at work. Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy were great, but Sophie made the show. When she made an entrance into a scene, she took the show to the next level. It amazes me how she could be serious one minute and then absolutely hilarious the next. We all were fortunate to have had the opportunity to see her wisdom and comedy. Estelle Getty's passing is a great loss. She was a rainbow of joy to watch.

Estelle and her girls still start my every morning with laughter, as I watch them daily on TV. They bring laughter and tears to my heart. I don't have any family anymore and so I wish someday I can live with a group of ladies like the Golden Girls. It is so priceless to have a group of ladies that care so much for each other, that surely would make up for not having a family anymore.

Golden Girls was filmed before my time but I grew up loving every minute of the re-runs yet my favorite memories of Estelle Getty aren't of her comedy work but her values and courage to stand up for what she believed in from gay rights to charity work instead. This was her true legacy that will be forever missed though her artwork will be appreciated for years to come by the laughter of millions...

They say that when you go to heaven meet up with old friends that you may not have seen for years. But you know that these 2 outstanding ladies have everybody in stiches with their whit and humor and that they may be with some of their own family but to know that they have one another should be very comforting to keep the jokes and good times going. I still watch you ladies evertime I know that you are going to be on and I never stop laughing. Thank you for bringing such joy and laughter into this lonely life of mine. You will be terribly missed. And to the family, I am very sorry for you loose. She brought much joy to many many people.

She really was one of a kind. I miss you Estelle and I hope wherever you are it is a place of rest, peace and happiness. May God keep you under his wing always for you are surely missed by many, many people!!!!!!!!!!

Ms. Getty reminded me so much of my own mother, only she was white. She was loving, but new what to say to get it together. She also had "convenient" memory. She could remember only those things that were beneficial to her. The world will miss her and her powerful voice. She was someone to treasure and love. She was everybodys MA!

I have been watching the Golden Girls since they first started and now my 14 year old son and Iwatch the dvds every night, he really laughs when Sophia speaks! We were both really upset to hear about Estelle, she will be remembered in our memory forever. God Bless her and all her family, she is really missed. X

I have been a huge fan of The Golden Girls since I was a teenager. I have seen every episode numerous times and know most of them by memory. Although I truely loved every character of the show, Estelle Getty was my absolute favorite. She put so much heart into everything that she did, on and off screen. What I liked the most was the relationship she had with her daughter, Dortothy. Her insults were all in love. She will be truely missed.

I have been watching the golden girls since the show air and my favorite was Sofia she was a riot she made me laugh whenever I was sad, I would run home from work just not to miss the show. I even got my kids watching the show ,up to this day they still like watching the girls. My oldest daughter who is now 28 even got me the Golden t-shirt she bought one for herself that's how much she like the girls. She was very sad when sofia past but she said at least I could still see the show and laugh. Me and my kids miss sofia even though we didn't know her in person. She will be remember always. May she rest in peace.

I will always remember Estelle! I was so shocked to hear of her passing! Like myself, she waited to raise her sons before fulfilling her dream! She definitely lived her dream and has placed herself as one of the greatest comedic actors to date! I guess I will never understand why "the girls"did not show up for her memorial service. When my husband's grandfather died, and was in the advanced stages of dementia, everyone came to pay their respects, family and longtime friends, even though he did not know who we were when he was alive. But I know everyone grieves differently. I send out prayers to her sons and family. Marcell94

The Golden Girls is still one of my favorite shows and Estelle Getty was a big part of the reason. The series was ground-breaking and I don't think anyone could have played the part of Sophia better than Ms. Getty. I have the entire series on DVD and watch it almost daily. Some laughs just never get old. Rest in peace, Estelle. My prayers go out to her surviving family members and friends.

Estelle was always funny. I will miss her very much. Just remember that when Jesus died and rose again, He defeated death as well as sin and Satan. If Getty had that relationship with Jesus then she is in his arms and she is no longer suffering.

I was only a teenager when the golden girls first aired and i was captivated from the start. Estelle and the girls had an amazing gift in being able to make people laugh. Golden girls was unique as it also dealt with sensitive issues prevelant at the time in both a serious and poignant manner. Estelles performance in the episode where Rose believes she may have aids from a blood transfusion was outstanding as her behaviour relected the fears and stigma people had towards aids at the time. Also the episode where her son dies echoed tha real life fears that many elderly people have fearing they may outlive their children. Estelle was an actress of great talent, and she was the grandma that i wished i could have had. Now through the power of television and dvd Estelle and the rest of the golden girls will live on forever, making new generations laugh. Today, whenever i feel depressed i put on the golden girls and i am soon laughing again. God bless you Estelle and thank you for being a friend to millions and thank you for the laughter you brought into the lives of so many people.

Watching The Golden Girls would always make me feel safe and happy, I can't explain it, it always gave me a sense of security, which I loved. As soon as the theme music would start and I saw the opening credits, it always put a smile on my face, and still does. I remember the show was on when I was a little girl, and I didn't really understand the humor, but even back then I was drawn to that "Little Sicilian". When I first heard Sophia drop those classic one liners, I knew I would be forever hooked. Now I have the entire Golden Girls series on DVD and can truly appreciate Estelle Getty's comedic brilliance, Estelle may be gone, but everytime I want to laugh and remember the woman she was, PICTURE IT, I just load up the DVD player and let the good times roll. Ma, I luv ya........... RIP xoxo P.S I chose the picture of the Crown, because you are and always will be the "QUEEN OF COMEDY" to me.
