I didn't know any of these people, but I was really sad when I heard about the accident. It could've happened to anyone, and it makes me sad that it had to happen to these boys. It could've been me - I'm a bball player and everything.

I don't know any of you, but we're connected...through loss itself. You see, four and a half years ago we too were waiting for our loved ones to return home. Our 12 year old son and his grandparents had spent a fabulous week together at our summer house. Instead of them driving up our driveway, a police car with two crisis personnel came instead. Our lives were shattered that day as we learned we had lost our son and my husband had lost both his parents as well. We know the devastation and hurt . May you be enveloped by your community and those dearest to you and may you know how deeply sorry we are for your loss. May the power of prayer and the knowing that we're sharing in your loss bring you some comfort.

Also to the coach for the loss of his wife. Our thoughts are with you. Although we can only send our prayers your way, we wish you the strength to get through the coming days and to be one day able to remember with joy the memories of wonderful times spent with these boys during their short lives. I was so touched by this accident. As a basketball player, I've travelled on terrible roads in snow storms in a team bus and I just can't help thinking that things can happen so easily and there's no way of knowing when they're going to happen. I am sorry to everyone grieving a loss as result of this tragedy.

I was lucky to have the pleasure of meeting several of these amazing men when they would travel down here to play a basketball game. For seven such amazing lives to end in the blink of an eye is just un-thinkable, and being a part of a school who has suffered a loss of four students hearing that senven amazing men whom I had seen play on MHS court just hours before had left us, i was in shock. Greatest sympathies go out to the families at this difficult time, you are in our hearts and prayers. Rest In Peace Boys In Red! you will forever be loved and missed

We are very sorry for all the families of these eight people lost in this tragic accident .I cried when watching this on the news.I know exactly what they are going through. We lost our daughter in a car acccident on October 20 2004.We were devastated. She had only been working as an RN in the Kentville hospital 6 months when this happened. She was only 22.So we know what these families are going through and what they will face in the days ahead. My advice to the friends of these families and the people of Bathurst is to comfort ,to pray, and to be with them as long as they need you.Just to drop in and say hi can change how their day will go.Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I can't begin to imagine what the families are going through, but I am a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason, God needed those boys with him and Mrs. Lord to keep them close. No parent should have to lose a child. My thoughts are with the families daily and my tears fall with yours, the hurt in my heart is an ache only a parent can describe, God Bless you.

My thoughts and prayers are with those all affected by this terrible accident. Being formerly from Bathurst and a 1981 graduate of BHS I know how close knit the community is and how everybody feels the pain when so many young lives are taken far too soon. Mr. Lord and the survivors of the accidents, you are in my prayers. R.I.P. Boys in Red and Mrs. Lord...you will live on in our hearts forever.

A few years ago a family member tragically was taken from us due to a motor vehicle accident in Bathurst. The following poem has offered some peace to us so I would like to share it with all of you. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you go through this trying time. Hopefully the memories that you have will help comfort you during this sad time. To all Parents Edgar Guest "I'll lend you for a while a child of mine," He said. "For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he's dead. It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three, But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief, You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief." "I cannot promise he will stay; since all from earth return, But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn. I've looked the wide world over in My search for teachers true And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes I have chosen you. Now will you give him all your love, not think the labor vain, Nor hate Me when I come to call to take him back again?" "I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, Thy will be done! For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we run. We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may, And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay; But should the angels call for him much sooner than we've planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand!"
