We first met Grand Aunt Wynne nineteen years ago when she came to Texas visiting us in 1991. In the Proceeding years through 2005, we had had the opportunity to get together with her for nearly a dozen times, once in Shanghai, another in Vegas, and several times in the States and Australia. Wally, especially when he worked several winters at CSIRO in Canberra, visited the Shihs almost biweekly, playing mahjongg, slot machines in the clubs and casinos. We are very fortunate to have known the Matriarch at her golden age, learning from her in many occasions the Jiang’s, the Kiang’s, the Chiang’s family lines, their Aussie relatives and customs. Both Grant Uncle and Aunt were such gentle and hospitable individuals that we were treated as same-ranking relatives although we are two generations apart. Grand Aunt was a true Matriarch for an extended family of over a hundred individuals. As she left us in peace, though we mourn our loss, but are pleased for her pleasant journey to join the Patriarch.
