Bill was my distant cousin and I remember him and all his family who I keep in touch with. I first met him 40 years ago when he was 12 and I was 20. Talented, inquisitive, with a brain the size of a planet, Bill was just delightful company, and the sort of person you could meet after a 20 year gap and just carry on the conversation. Tough, determined, generous, thoughtful, Bill represented a slightly different generation from mine, but he always thought about other people more than himself. He was a gentleman, and i will miss his company very much because when we met, which wasn't often, he was a joy. I am very sad at his passing. He was the epitome of the word decent.
