I was a patient of Dr Kertsman, he had a great sense of humour, and I will miss talking to him. He was always happy to see his patients and happy to exchange ideas. He was a very caring man and a fantastic doctor; he will be missed by many.

Our entire family humbly bows its head in grief and silence in the memory of Dr. Villen (Vilya) Kertsman who passed away suddenly and tragically on October 30, 2010, at the age of 78. Our heart and soul are with his family at this difficult time, supporting them in their mourning. May they know no further grief. Vilya will always remain in memory as a warm and caring man, who's mastery in surgery and medicine were surpassed only by the kindness of his heart. A man of great humor and of endless love for nature and its animal inhabitants. A man of lively and mischievous spirit balanced by his infinite sense of responsibility. A man who's obligation and love for his family were without measure. For my sister and myself, after our late Grisha, Vilya had always been, and will forever remain, the closest we ever had to a grandfather. May his spirit find rest and comfort in the warm companionship of the Lord. יהי זכרו ברוך

I worked with Vilen at The Glenroy Family Practice for about 7 years, it was a great shock to have been told that he was no longer with us! He was the most kindest, Generous, softly spoken gentleman i have ever come across. His funeral was something i could not have missed. And i can honestly speak on behalf of all the staff at Glenroy when I say he will be spoken about for so many more years to come, there will be story's that will bring us to tears and there will be story's will make us cry. I was greatly privileged to work with Dr Kertsman. He was an extraordinary person and extremely talented surgeon . It is a great loss for us all. He will be greatly missed, always loved and remembered.
