She was a risk taker. Vera came to Geelong in the 50’s to marry my Dad. It was an arranged marriage in a new country in a small town. Vera was always trying new things while in Geelong she worked with Myer Geelong and created a line of underwear. A novelty for Myers and Geelong. She loved pets and growing things; she had dogs, cats, a canary (called Bruce), fish and chickens. In Geelong, she worked for a while as a dress maker for a textile company. And then as a language teacher at Footscray Girls High. She was a hard worker; she was always helping Dad with Painting. Vera loved cooking and would cook up a meal for a special day and make sure that there was plenty for everyone to have at least two serves. She loved children and all her grandchildren. She knew all their favorite dishes. She would always make ta birthday cake. She was skillful knitter and dress maker and would always be ready to sow or knit something for her family. My best memory of her is that she was always beaming with energy and willing to try new things. She loved Tai Chi. She was always changing and re arranging things around, always improving on things. Well, good luck in heaven. Good bye Mum/Vera.
