I had the pleasure of meeting Stan and Judy some 8 years ago, literally during my first few days with Flight Centre. Over the years as I moved locations, Stan, as the ever so loyal client that he was, would contact me and travel miles to visit so I could continue to assist with his arrangements. When Stan visited he certainly knew how to make an entrance. Wearing his suit and hat, he was a distinguished man indeed! I remember saying to my new Manager when Stan and Judy once visited, that I could only wish all my clients were as loyal and wonderful as Stan and Judy were. Every time I spoke and dealt with Stan, I hoped that I would end up being as charming and respectful as he was, especially in light of the events that life throws at us. As I am also involved with law (plaintiff civil law matters), I can see just how brutal the legal environment can be. However speaking with Stan, you would have never known it! In my industry we see thousands of clients, however there are always those 5-10 that stand out throughout your career and Stan was one of them. Having not heard from him for a couple years, on this Saturday night I decided to investigate why. I am truly saddened to hear of his passing. To me, Stan was not just a client, but a true gentlemen and I am so pleased to have met him and hence, be given a figure who I would like to think that one day, I might be able to become.
