I meet Simon during my casual teaching times too and we became firm good friends, his wicked scene of fun will be missed, He was a caring and loving man to all that knew him. One of the fittest body I had every seen. As simon said. I was soiled by his looks! Simon I will miss you, I will miss our daily chats about life ! I think of you everyday. I wish I could have said goodbye! My love to Sandra during this sad times. Love Hannah Burt xxxx

It was with great sadness that the Coburg Harriers Club learned of Simon's untimely passing. Simon was a club fun run regular of ours and in 11 races over a two year period was in the top three placegetters each time he ran. Simon has five race victories to his credit, including the tough Blustone Classic and in 2008 successfully defended his King of the North crown. Upon learning of his passing we posted this tribute to our Facebook page. Our condolences to the family.

Very sad about Simon's passing. Although I hadnt seen him of late, there was always a mutual respect between us both. Simon had an uncanny ability to engage in conversation with me until the wee hours of the morning. He was enthusiastic about what I was doing in the theatre, probably because his training required the same amount of edication and discipline. He once invested many nights helping me research and inspire my play Shakespeare's Boys, about a group of mistunderstood youth. I will always have kind thoughts about Simon and will miss our fun chats and adventures.

I first met Simon when he was doing some casual relief teaching work at Point Gellibrand Girls Secondary College back in 1991. The girls adored Simon's piercing blue eyes. Though I did not know Simon well, as a fellow casual relief teacher we would chat and share experiences and our paths crossed over the years. I remember seeing him running every now and then and we always stopped to chat. He was so fit and I last saw him some years back when he was doing some more casual relief teaching at Taylors Lakes.
