When we were kids, everyone wanted a mum like Sanie. She was not only a sandwich maker extraordinaire, but her warmth and kindness knew no bounds to a fairly petulant pack of teenage girls. I remember her in the kitchen at Towns Road, laughing with us at some boy catastrophe, and making us feel that everything would be alright despite all the drama of life at 16. Time spent with Sanie revealed truths about the world. Through her, we understood how a family should work. We saw that love in generous supply was its cornerstone. We saw that people were good, and we felt both reassured and inspired. We have lost Sanie but I can see her in all our group of friends. She helped to shape us after all. Thank you Susie and all the Lances for sharing her with us.

I can't express enough sorrow for your loss. John & Sandra you are both in my heart, I have never met anyone or heard about anyone who comes close to you both in generosity, compassion & good family people. I am in shock, I wish I new when she was in the hospital so I could have visited Sandra. I didn't want to ring when I first heard about the tumor as I didn't want to intrude & was lost for words. But I have been praying. Sandra was my inspiration , I looked up to her in so many different ways. My thoughts are with you John & the family. Love, Mary Tsaccounis
