I met Russell many years ago and saw him intermittently over the years, usually in relation to his work in quality assurance. Like, Evie I remember him for his kindness, generosity and courtesy. Those qualities were natural to him and left an enduring impression.
Russell made his mark; I am better off for having known him and terribly saddened that he has left this life too soon. I will always be grateful for Russell's kindness, respectfulness and generosity of spirit. He taught me a lot; he was a great support professionally and personally at times such as when well founded health advice was needed. I will always be grateful to Russell for introducing me to St Mary's thistle when I had glandular fever! Like a shooting star, Russell lit up the sky with his passion for life, people, nature and the pursuit of knowledge and our search for ways to be ever better. My heart goes out to his loved ones; may they be comforted by knowing that Russell touched many and his learning and wisdom lives on in them; I count myself fortunate to be one of those people.
