We have fond memories of Roy (and Helen) although our meetings were often brief upon their visits to Tom and Bryce, either in St. Louis or on trips to Milwaukee on their way to Minnesota. He was a good person...gentle and kind and always a gentleman. He is a great loss to Helen and family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them. David and Joyce in Milwaukee
I'm so pleased that I had a chance to spend time with Roy and Helen in St. Louis during their infrequent visits. I had such interesting conversations with both of them. I found myself quite captured with Roy's stories, whether of his sea adventures or his very interesting work and travels. He left a deep impression on me, of one deeply immersed in observing and embracing the beauty and complexity of the world. It's a privilege to have known him, even a little. I do hear still the sound of his lovely, gracious voice. My thoughts are with Helen, Bryce, Alex, Tom and the rest of the Cooper family. Chris Roman, St. Louis
However distant, Roy was a father I knew best. From the moment he understood that I fully appreciated the gift he and Helen had given me of his daughter Bryce, we were straight. I will miss our conversations about books and grammar, and his sense of humor and irony. I will be thinking of him whenever I am on the Great Northern Walk.
I only met Bryce's parents one time since she joined our family, but it was a warm, delightful gathering at our mother's home, as they traveled back from Europe. I am very sorry for the sudden loss and grateful that I had that opportunity to meet him. I know that he meant so much to so many. Linda Dlugosch Spanier Sister-in-Law to Bryce
I remember Roy Cooper as an outstanding gentle person. Because of the great distance between Australia and Europe I met him only some times, but I and Cornelia we both enjoy to have known him. He will be forever in our memory. Wolfgang and Cornelia Clauss
