First time I was allowed to go bushwalking without adult supervision my cousin Richard was "appointed " to go with myself and a schoolfriend to Blue Gum Forrest in the Grose Valley for a 3 day walk. He was to keep an eye on us . He must have been about 15 so seemed quite old to me !!! We didn't get lost . I took Apricots and some few spoons full of rice to make dessert and I recall Richard being sceptical about whether it could possibly expand enough for 3 hungry boys , but it did . We had a good time . So long ago !
